“You said you don’t do pecks, but I don’t mind giving you one.” Lu Xinyi looked at everywhere but him.

“I didn’t say I dislike them. I don’t mind receiving them from you. So feel free to give me some whenever you feel like doing it.” he whispered. His lips tingle abit where she’d kissed him.

“That’s good to hear.” She gave him a shy smile and refused to meet his eyes again. “Let’s call it a night, shall we?” she awkwardly replied. She was still embarrassed that she kissed him.

It was their first kiss as husband and wife.

“Come, I’ll show you our room.” Shen Yi released her from being trapped.

Lu Xinyi blinked and was taken aback.

Wait. Did he just say their room?

They’re going to share a room?

She was panicking inside but still followed her husband as he walked upstairs with her luggage on his hand.

Lu Xinyi estimated that his house could be at least three hundred square meters. He didn’t have much furniture just like what he got on his suite on the cruise ship. What he had here though were smartly decorated and did have functions for his daily living.

With the spacious area within the living room, connected to the kitchen and dining room. Mallows and Milk Tea can easily play and walked around the house. Once they reached the second floor, she saw four rooms.

“The room on the end of the hall is my study. This room..” pointing on the nearest room on the stairs, “Is my room. You can choose between those two vacant rooms.”

“Ohh?”

So they wouldn’t share a room?

“Say, Xinyi. Did you just think that we will sleep on the same bed?” He teased her again. “Oh, my. Didn’t know you really wanted to jump on me at any given chance.”

His brows flickered up and down in tease.

Lu Xinyi was caught by surprise and didn’t react. It took her several seconds before it sinked on her what he had said.

“Your shamelessness astounds me,” She huffed before taking her luggage from his hand and walked towards the vacant room next to his study.

“Lu Xinyi,” Shen Yi followed her, took her chin and tilted it up so she could look at him. Her brown eyes wide as she stared back on his with an innocent face. “Never forget that I see you as a woman.”

They stared on each other’s eyes for three seconds before he felt her pushing him away.

Shen Yi was left in the hallway grinning like an idiot. Her expression was priceless and he couldn’t get enough of her.

After Lu Xinyi closed her door, she slowly leaned her back on it. She let go of her luggage and Shen Yi’s shirt. She let her knees gave way and slid down in a squatting position on the floor. Hiding her face in her folded arms, she took a deep breath and sighed.

In the privacy of her own space, Lu Xinyi tried to slow down the pace of her heartbeat.

“Shen Yi, what am I going to do with you?”

Shen Yi opened his room and threw himself on his massive bed. Staring up on the ceiling, he wondered how Lu Xinyi could change his boring and lifeless life now that they were married.

He liked teasing her but he knew whenever he spent more time with her, his self-control was put on a test. What would be her reaction if he told her he desires her?

In just a week, Shen Yi couldn’t believe that she had this much effect on him. Although right now all he wanted to do is to hold her in his arms and protect her from anyone who wants to hurt her, Shen Yi restrained himself.

He will not force himself to Lu Xinyi. Not like this. She just got over from a heartbreak and still vulnerable. She needed more time to heal and to move on. Maybe if he’d met her earlier and didn’t have to do a contractual marriage, he could fall in love with her first before marrying her.

There was no point on musing on what ifs. He couldn’t change anything but go with the flow. Hoping that whatever tomorrow brings to them, Lu Xinyi wouldn’t lose her smile.
