Chapter 48 - The Culprit

When Chen Hao left, MinFeng sat on the sofa.

His face darkened as he remembered their previous conversation before the doctors arrived.

He wanted to know why she lied to him.

He stared at FengJiu.

He was not really angry towards her.

He was just hurt.

Hurt because she hid away their child.

If they did not reconcile, would that mean that she intended to hide the child completely?

Without even informing him about that little guy's existence?

He saw FengJiu scooted at the side of the bed, emptying the other side of it.

She stared at him and said, "Come... Sleep with me."

He did not move. He just continued to stare at her.

He wanted her to say it first. To explain everything.

He wanted to know her reason.

He was still thinking hard when FengJiu grabbed her head and wailed.

"Aiyooo~ my head hurts... Boo hoo~"

MinFeng knew she was just acting.

He knew that she was just acting to avoid answering his question.

He knew that she was just acting because she did not want to explain everything to him.

MinFeng decided to ignore her even though he was a little bit anxious towards her.

There was a possibility that she was really in pain.

But he tried to harden his heart and just looked at her.

When she saw he was not moving, she wailed again.

This time, her voice was one octave higher.

"Boo~ hoo~ It hurts... It hurts sooo muchhh.. Ahh~"

MinFeng could only sigh.

Really.

He could not win against her.

He could not completely get angry at her.

He could only yield to his wife.

He stood up and walked towards her.

She once again scooted on the other side of the bed.

He knew that FengJiu was aware that he wanted to ask her about their baby.

That he was aware that she was just acting to avoid his question.

But MinFeng could not get angry at her.

Because he loved this stupid woman.

He sat on the bed and caressed her face.

"Are you okay?"

MinFeng asked.

FengJiu smiled and nodded.

"When you touched me, the pain went away.."

MinFeng wanted to roll his eyes.

'This stupid woman must have a private lessons with that shameless friend of hers. She sucks at sucking up.'

MinFeng once again sighed and kissed her head that was wrapped in a thick bandage.

"Sleep..."

He ordered but she shook her head.

"I can't sleep. Can you cuddle me?"

He stared at her who was holding his hand.

He could only oblige and climb up the bed.

He laid on the bed and embraced FengJiu.

Few minutes later she had already fallen asleep.

He just stared at her sleeping face without blinking.

What happened to her really scared him to death.

That was the first time he experienced being suffocated to death.

The first time he wanted to die.

Few hours later, FengJiu was still sleeping.

MinFeng was still wide awake when the head doctor entered the room.

He was holding FengJiu's chart.

He walked towards them and saluted.

"Mr. Lu."

"Enn.. Speak. What's the matter? Is there any problem?"

MinFeng spoke.

He was still lying on the bed while embracing FengJiu.

He did not bother to sit and just stared at the head doctor.

He knew that the doctors already know his ambiguous relationship with FengJiu.

But he did not care.

To be honest, he wanted to shout to the world that FengJiu was already his woman and whoever wanted to covet her would be visiting King Yama[1] early.

But now that someone wanted to harm her. He decided to conceal everything first.

"Everything is stable, Mr. Lu. Miss Feng's vitals are all improving. I could not even believe that she would wake up after her surgery without any complications. This is basically a miracle."

"Mmm.. So why were you here?"

"I would like to address some matters regarding Miss Feng's recuperation."

The head doctor knew that MinFeng and FengJiu were currently an item.

Since Miss Feng is already pregnant, it would mean that they were doing matrimonial deeds.

The head doctor could only sigh after remembering that the two of them are rivals.

'ayeee.. This is basically the modern version of Romeo and Juliet. They must really love each other.. Too bad, their family must be against their relationship. They could only love each other in the dark and unable to tell the world.'

The head doctor coughed and tried to look as professional as possible even though his heart was aching for the couple.

"Mr. Lu, Miss Feng needs time to recuperate. She almost had miscarriage and her body is still weak. She is not allowed to undergo stressful activities. I suggest... *cough* that she should avoid any sexual intercourse for two months. You must.. *cough* abstain from tiring her out."

The head doctor could feel a dark aura coming form MinFeng.

He immediately continued.

"But Mr. Lu! Do not worry. Using other parts of the body is very okay. If you really could not control your desire, once every month will do. But you have to make sure to do it gently and avoid thrusting deep."

The head doctor secretly wiped his sweat. He immediately blurted everything out without using proper words.

What he said sounded lewd so he could not help but blush a little.

After the head doctor left, Chen Hao arrived.

MinFeng stared at him and asked, "How was it?"

"This subordinate already talked with the higher ups here in the hospital. I already told them not to say a word about what happened today.

This subordinate also went to that place and made an investigation."

MinFeng's eyes darkened.

"Speak. What did you learned? Was it an accident or was it intentional? Was there any witnesses in the area?"

"Young Madam was indeed pushed off the stairs."

When MinFeng heard those words, his face sank.

He balled his fist and stared at Chen Hao angrily.

"Where is that bastard who pushed my wife?!"

"Boss.. This.."

Chen Hao could not muster the courage to tell MinFeng.

He took a deep breath before he spoke again.

"Boss, the culprit is..."

Just to address a little misunderstanding.

I already posted 3 chapters in the previous two consecutive updates.

Wednesday and Thursday.

Some of you asked yesterday why I only posted 2 chapters. Yesterday was Friday----In MY country.

I guess the time difference in every country is the main reason. Philippine Standard Time is GMT+8. It means that we are 8 hours earlier than the univeral time 'Greenwich Mean Time'.

It almost freaked me out thinking I forgot to post an extra chapter yesterday. Luckily, it was just a misunderstanding.

As much as I want to give bonus chaps right now, I can't because I haven't written any advanced chapters yet. Hahahah.

I was busy... Reading manga, watching anime and j-c-k-drama...

and stalking my bias. HAHAHAH.

SEE? I'M SO BUSY. XD
