Chapter 179 - Jia Li Blushed Under The Covers

Fu Hua stopped in his steps and glanced at her with creased brows and asked, "Do you want to say something?"

Jia Li shook her head in a negative affirmation.

Fu Hua wanted to walk off again, but her hold on his clothes became tighter. And before he could say anything to her again, Jia Li took a step and embraced him.

She circled her arms around his waist and leaned her head on his shoulder. She was afraid he would push her away, but still, she was ready for it.

After there was no movement 5 seconds later, Jia Li concluded that he wasn't going to push her away, so she relaxed comfortably in his embrace and shut her eyes.

"Please can we stay like this for a few minutes?" She asked in a soft tone without raising her face.

This was the first time Jia Li was making a move on him and Fu Hua didn't know her reason. But since she asked to stay like that for a few minutes, he wasn't going to push her away.

Fu Hua hugged her waist and allows her to rest comfortably in his embrace. He even went ahead to kiss the top of her hair.

After a few minutes has passed and Jia Li wasn't letting go, Fu Hua whispered to her, "It's tiring for you to continue standing, I will carry you to the bed."

And with that, he lifted her and walked towards the bed as Jia Li circled her arm around his neck.

When Fu Hua placed her on the bed, she reluctantly let go of his neck. She missed his warm embrace.

Fu Hua saw the reluctance in her gaze as she let go and smiled. He walked towards his side of the bed, got inside the duvet and covered their bodies with it.

Without warning, Fu Hua pulled Jia Li into his embrace and wrapped his arm around her.

Jia Li's lips turned up in a smile as she rested her head on his hard chest comfortably.

"Are you tired? If you are, sleep." Fu Hua said to her in a gentle tone as he rubbed her back.

Jia Li raised her head to glance at him. Her gaze moved from his eyes to his pointed nose and then to his lips. Without thinking twice, she leaned in to give him a quick kiss before turning her back towards him.

Fu Hua was indeed surprised by her gesture. This was the first time she was taking the initiative to be close to him and she even kissed him.

Fu Hua smiled with his gaze on her back, while Jia Li blushed under the covers. She felt that she was very brave to make a move on him.

Fu Hua pulled her closer to him, so her back was against his chest. "Do you want something from me?" He asked.

"No, I...I..." Jia Li stammered nervously.

"It's okay, you can tell me anything." Fu Hua encouraged her.

Jia Li was encouraged by his words and went ahead to say what was in her mind.

"I just wanted to rest in your arms."

Her voice was so tiny that Fu Hua could barely hear her.

"It's okay, I am your husband, don't be shy. I will accompany you to rest at your request." Fu Hua said as he moved his hand to caress her stomach through her cloth.

Jia Li enjoyed his touch and shut her eyes with a satisfied smile. She was happy she made a move and was not rejected.

She didn't know what came over her, but she suddenly wanted to feel his touch and be close to him.

Now that her heart desires were being fulfilled, she was happy.

Fu Hua held Jia Li in his embrace until she fell asleep. He noticed her stable breathing and a smile turned up on his lips.

He stayed like that for a while, before falling asleep not long after.

When Jia Li woke up from her nap, she noticed that she was still in Fu Hua's embrace. Her back was no longer against him, but she was gazing at his face right now.

Fu Hua felt a gaze on him and opened his eyes to see Jia Li staring at him.

"What are you looking at?" He asked as he pinched her nose.

Jia Li moved her face away and complained, "I'm famished."

"You're hungry? I will call the servants to bring something for you. What do you want to eat?" Fu Hua asked as he sat up and helped her to sit up as well.

"I just want to eat something." Jia Li replied. These days taking a nap could be quite annoying because she will sleep with a full stomach and wake with an empty one.

Sometimes she wondered if her baby only ate when she was sleeping because since she conceived, she noticed that pattern.

Fu Hua picked up the telephone ?? on the bedside table and phoned the kitchen. He asked them to bring some light and healthy snacks for Jia Li.

Before he finished the call, Jia Li went for a bathroom break and when she returned, he was already sitting on his desk.

"Sit and wait for a minute, a servant will bring you some healthy snacks soon." Fu Hua said to her.

Jia Li smiled sat down to wait for the snacks. At last, when the servant arrived and served the healthy snacks, she began to eat them immediately.

Fu Hua glanced over and said, "Don't eat too much, it will be time for lunch soon."

Jia Li paused and asked her gaze on him, "Can I have my lunch here?" She wanted to have her lunch in the room because she was scared.

"No, we will all have our lunch in the dining room. We need to be present to listen to an apology." Fu Hua replied.

Jia Li was confused about his statement but didn't ask further.

Her questions were answered after Fu Hee apologized to her and everyone present in the dining room.

Fu Hee's eyes were still red from the crying episode from earlier. Her eyes looked swollen as well.

After apologizing, Grandfather Fu gave a sign for them to start eating.

Jia Li didn't know what to think about her mother-in-law's current looks. She didn't look happy and wondered what was done to her to make her be in that state.

Fu Hee didn't eat much during lunch and went back to her bedroom earlier than usual.
