A wrinkle was seen on Ren Shiyuan's forehead when he heard what she said. "Rome?"

If they would go by car, it would almost take seven hours before they can reach the place. If it was by train, it would take almost four hours.

Whenever Nian Jiezhen would start working, she would live in Rome. If she was on leave, then she would go back to her main home in Milan, that's why she wanted Xia Meilin to go to her mother instead since she won't be in Milan that much unless she didn't have a case.

"Yes. Her mother will be coming today to watch over me." She said with a sigh. "If you want to go to her, I can't come with you. Nian Jiezhen's mother is coming today so I have to be at home to accompany her."

He clenched the handwheel tight as he lowered his head. What should he do? Should he continue to pursue her? She did say that their relationship won't become so easy because of their works. He was willing to make time for her but was she willing to make time for him?

"Do you like her?" Xia Meilin asked as if planting a bomb all of the sudden.

"Man, you're really so straightforward." He chuckled a bit. "Can't you at least give me a warning before you ask something serious like that?"

She rolled her eyes and shrugged. Xia Meilin never hesitates on asking what was on her mind when she was really curious about something. "So, do you like her?

He smiled a bit at the question. The reason why he was attracted to Nian Jiezhen was that she was a person who understands him. He wasn't after her because of love but he only wanted to get to know her more; to know how much similarities they have. Other than that, she was someone who brings comfort to him because of the fact that she understands him.

Why was he willing to go this far for her to the point of changing his schedule?

Just by looking at Ren Shiyuan, Xia Meilin know that he likes Nian Jiezhen...the only problem was; he doesn't realize it himself.

Xia Meilin was not in the rush to make them fall for each other since she knew that she cannot force their feelings for each other that's why all she can do was to guide them to each other.

"Why don't you give your feelings a thought first?" Xia Meilin suggested.

"I love you, do you know that?" Ren Shiyuan turned to her with eyes full of emotion.

"I know." She said slowly. "But you also know that I only have one man in my heart; my husband."

Shifting his gaze, he laughed grimly before he said, "I guess I got rejected again."

"I'm a married woman, of course, I will reject you. Besides, my husband is hotter than you, why should I replace him?" She said harshly. "He may be older than you but I like older men; men that are six years older than me."

"Okay, okay. You don't have to put salt on the wound, you know."

She crossed her arms, "You need to know your place in my heart- ah wait, you don't have a place and will never have one, so go love someone else, someone single... like Nian Jiezhen."

His brow twitched in annoyance. Give her an inch and she'll take a mile. Can't she see that he's badly hurting right now? "What's so good about him anyway? What made you fall for him?"

"Are you dumb? Didn't I just say that I prefer older men? Besides, I also said that he's hotter than you." She said, almost running out of patient because of how thick-headed Ren Shiyuan was. "Besides, my husband has a kind and gentle heart, he's always there to support me."

He can also do things that Lu Yifeng do, he can even spoil her more than he does! He can even spoil her more than how Lu Yifeng spoils her!

Ren Shiyuan could only sigh in defeat as he looked at Xia Meilin's unyielding expression. She was never going to back down if it comes on protecting her husband.

"Drop me to my place, I'm tired. I think I can't go shopping anymore." She shifted her gaze away from him. "Explaining something to a stupid man is like punching a pillow."

His gaze darkened and the temperature inside the car instantly became low, as if the cold weather outside the car was now inside.

Xia Meilin turned to Ren Shiyuan and saw him with a serious face. She smirked upon seeing this. She clearly knew that Ren Shiyuan didn't like being called 'stupid' or 'dumb'. Xia Meilin was the only person that was brave enough to call him this way.

She took out a gun from her purse and pointed it to him. "Drive or I'll shoot you."

His eyes fell on the gun and because of this, his brows were knitted together. "Seriously, woman?"

She shrugged. "I'm serious. I want to go home and sleep so start driving."

The air in the car went back to normal as Ren Shiyuan let out a heavy sigh. He started the engine and started driving to Nian Jiezhen's place.

"Put your gun down or else the police might catch us." Ren Shiyuan said calmly even though Xia Meilin was pointing the gun on his head.

A playful grin appeared on Xia Meilin's lips, "I've always wanted to try this." She kept her gun back in her purse.

"You're crazy."

She shrugged. "I'm bored so why not?"

Ren Shiyuan couldn't help but sigh again. He was trying his best to calm himself down since she was starting to get in his nerves.

If Lu Yifeng was here, will he be able to deal with this side of his wife? Will he be able to pacify Xia Meilin's craziness?
