Chapter 90 - RULE!

Hao Xuan stood in his Mind Palace while trying to absorb all the information that was just dumped into his brain when there was a noise behind him.

"Oh, now this is really unexpected. I didn't expect you to have the Soul Severing Heavenly constitution kid. Truly a great surprise," said a figure. Hao Xuan turned around in a flurry because this was in his mind and no one else should be here.

"What are you doing here?" he asked with furrowed brows. It was Meng, he was standing there in his same old attire, a black 'kimono' with an old gourd in hand.

"Don't worry, this just a bit of my consciousness that I left behind in case something went wrong while awakening your constitution, it will disappear soon" Meng replied in his usual casual tone.

"So everything is good then?"

"Yeah. You'll be fine. But remember to not mention anything about your constitution to anyone, ever. No matter who. I spent a lot of effort trying to awaken it," he said with a smile as he looked around.

"Sure, whatever you say," Hao Xuan didn't pay any attention to him and turned back around to focus on absorbing the information.

"By the way, did you see them yet?" Meng asked after a few minutes of wandering around.

"See who?" Hao Xuan asked without turning around, still engrossed in the info.

"The other two. Your other 'souls'," he said casually. Hao Xuan suddenly woke up from his stupor.

"Other souls? What are you talking about?"

"So you didn't? Don't worry, now that the constitution is active, they should have woken up as well. You'll hear from them soon," he said with a mischievous smile.

"Can you, for once, just talk normally?" Hao Xuan was at the end of his rope.

"Jeez, let me be all mysterious and confusing. Isn't that how it is in those novels and movies?"

"Just leave, I don't have time for your bullshit right now," Hao Xuan simply turned away without humoring him again.

"Alright alright. People with Soul Severing Heavenly constitution have multiple souls, well they're not exactly souls but kind of 'personalities'. They will be completely different from you as you are now. That's one of the reasons why people consider this constitution evil."

"The other two personalities are the total opposite of you. If you have a good and easy-going temperament then one of the other two will have much darker tendencies that won't care for anyone or anything, and the last one will be neutral. As you get stronger, so do they. They will fight for control over your body and if you're not careful, overtake it completely."

"That's one of the tribulations from the Heavens. The weaker personality is devoured and at the end, only one survives. Even though they are your personalities, consider them as entirely different beings. They won't care about your feelings. Usually, the first thing the evil one does after taking control is killing everyone the original cared about. It's sort of like a rite of passage for it."

"What? Are you fucking serious?" Hao Xuan was speechless. What the hell was this new development? And just as he thought he caught a break too.

"Don't worry about it too much. Just don't let your guard down. And don't trust them. I gave you one of the most overpowered physiques since the beginning of time."

*Sigh*

"You've got so much to do. Conquer this world, and then the next and then the one after. Your constitution is literally an Emperors. You were born to rule, so do just that. Rule over the other two, rule over the myriad realms, rule over the innumerable races. Let flow the rivers of blood, SHOW ME! Show me I wasn't wrong to help you. And maybe then you can return this favor," he said with an exalted aura. Hao Xuan felt like he was standing in front of a monster, a true and absolute monster.

"Don't let me down kid, I'll be watching," he said for the last time and then disappeared with a gust of wind.

Hao Xuan stood there, not knowing what to think or to do.

"Rule over the myriad realms? Easier said than done. I get my ass kicked every few days, I feel like you're talking about someone else," he said with an exasperated expression, out loud but there was no one to hear or to reply.

Meng was still sitting in his boat when he opened his eyes. His consciousness returned to his body.

*Sigh*

"I hope I wasn't wrong with this one," he said looking up at the starry sky when suddenly one after another, dozens of figures appeared around his boat. All shrouded in a black fog.

"My lord, was it not a bit hasty to give him that physique? He probably won't even survive long enough to reach a respectable realm," said one of the figures while getting down on one knee.

"It is fine. I gave each of you something at the start. Which one of you wasn't weak at some point? Although he wasn't talented enough for me to personally accept him as a disciple, but still keep an eye on him. Something tells me it will be entertaining. Keep things interesting, push him in the right direction when needed," Meng said as he was expecting the question of the figure.

"As you command my Liege," the figure bowed deeply.

"At worst, he can be a worthwhile distraction. I know how much they fear the Soul Severing Heavenly constitution," he said after a few seconds.

"Speak, what happened?" Meng inquired when the figures didn't leave.

"The Heavens are getting suspicious sire. There are a lot of new geniuses from the ten Heavens and Nine Worlds that have matured enough now. It seems hell has had some significant changes as well. As you ordered we have nurtured our own as well, and I feel they are not lacking in any way. By your command, should we commence the massacre?"

"No, it is not yet time, it has to happen naturally. Don't force it. Just focus on your own realms and I will let you know when it is the appropriate time. I will be the one to start things this time around. It will be entertaining to see how those old bastards will react, hahaha" he started laughing maniacally.. All the figures bowed once again and disappeared without disturbing him.
