Chapter 89 - One Man Army

While all the commotion was going on in the spider clan, Hao Xuan's body was floating inside the cocoon. His entire body was being broken down and reconfigured according to the physique scripture.

From every single muscle, blood vessel, and bone fragment down to the very cell, it was all coming apart and then getting put back together. If anyone could see his current condition they would be horrified.

When the cocoon was initially formed, Hao Xuan had already passed out. And who could blame him, half his body had exploded to form the cocoon.

Meaning he could use them normally, but he could not pass them along to anyone else.

Other than these three books there was a small blob of light floating next to them.

A normal person was born with one soul and one physique. In some rare cases, people with an extra something would be born. That was the constitution.

A physique was the type of physical body. Normal human beings would have mortal physiques but there were some that were born with special ones as well.

These people would have some abilities like extra toughness, elasticity, elemental bodies where they could turn themselves into one of the elements, beast bodies where a person would have the appearance and abilities of other beasts etc.

The variations were endless. A lot of powerful cultivators and clans had their own physiques like the infamous Yin Yang Physique, Poison physique, Heavenly Jade Physique, Black Ice Physique etc.

The Jia Kingdom was such an example. Their royal clan had the bloodline of giants which gave them special physiques.

But one good thing was that physiques could be upgraded with the help of treasures and scriptures. The heavens were not blind and always left a way out for mortals to ascend to greatness.

Constitutions were different to physiques in the sense that where a physique would encompass the user's entire physical body, a constitution could only affect some specific parts.

Constitutions were also much MUCH rarer. If one out of a million people had a constitution then it would be a miracle.

That's why whenever someone with a good constitution was born, they would be recruited by powerful clans and families to be basically used as breeding material.

For example, Hao Xuan had the Soul Severing Heavenly Constitution. This was an exceedingly rare kind of constitution that affected the eyes.

And his constitution was also dormant, meaning it required an outside influence for it to be awakened. And Meng had done just that.

He gave Hao Xuan the Immortal Devouring Demon Physique scripture and awakened his Soul Severing Heavenly constitution and gave him all the information to understand its uses.

The Soul Severing Heavenly constitution belonged to the so-called evil side. It allowed the user to sever the souls of other sentient beings and control them like contracted beasts.

Anyone unfortunate enough to be captured by a being of this constitution would never be able to break free. Their life and death would be linked to their 'masters'. Once their soul was marked, they would be loyal without question.

That's why any cultivators with such constitutions were hunted and killed on sight as they could enslave other cultivators for all of eternity.

Many millions of years ago there was once an existence with a Soul Severing Heavenly constitution who enslaved ancient beings and ruled over one of the Nine Worlds.

Legends said that Invincible Godkings and True Gods were his generals, Divine Beasts his mounts and ancient Paragons his soldiers.

No one could stand in his path. When he raised his banners, even the Heavens trembled.

Out of fear of being attacked, powerful beings from several different realms banded together to kill this person, but not a single one of them returned. He was never seen after that either so it was assumed that it was a complete massacre.

After that anyone with such a constitution either never awakened it or was simply killed off when they were young.

This was something that went against the heavens. The body could be enslaved, but the soul was the property of the Heavens above and the Hells below. It could never be tampered with by the mortal world.

And now Hao Xuan had awakened just such a constitution.

If one phrase could be used to define a person with this constitution then it would be, "One Man Army!"
