Qiao Moyu received a message from Ye Peicheng to tell her he was in the underground car park just as Luo Luo fell asleep after a bedtime story. He asked her to change her clothes and go on a walk with him.

Once she exited the elevator, Qiao Moyu saw Ye Peicheng at the entrance who had a complicated expression. He immediately held her hand when he saw her, “Let’s go to the river!”

Qiao Moyu’s home had a wide river nearby. During the summer evenings, a lot of people would walk along the river.

However the weather was chilly now so there was hardly anyone here at the river. Ye Peicheng and Qiao Moyu both wore face masks and walked along the river. The river wind raised the corners of their clothes and a slight chill swept through their bodies. This seemed to make Ye Peicheng even more clear-headed.

He looked at the surface of the river and spoke, “Little Moyu, I have something to tell you.”

Qiao Moyu nodded, her voice was soft, “Okay.”

“It’s about three years ago. It’s about you and me.” Ye Peicheng said this then turned around and looked Qiao Moyu in the eyes, “Little Moyu, Luo Luo is my son. My biological son.”

Qiao Moyu was completely shocked and dumbfoundedly stared up at Ye Peicheng.

She wanted to see if there was the slightest hint of sarcasm, but she failed to see any.

It was him? So Luo Luo’s real father is Ye Peicheng?

So the loving father she had been searching for, had always been by her and Luo Luo’s side?!

Qiao Moyu’s chest trembled. She could not say whether it was happiness or something else but her mind was blank.

Ye Peicheng proceeded to explain, “At that time, I had been drugged by my brother. I was delirious when you entered my room and dragged you into bed…”

Qiao Moyu continued to stand still in the same place. Her brain turned slowly and right now all she could think about was that Luo Luo’s biological father was Ye Peicheng. In the novel, when Luo Luo was in hospital with a fever and the original owner was taken to the police station over a reporter’s smashed camera, was it Ye Peicheng who took Luo Luo away?

However after thinking about it, she felt it was impossible because the original owner and Ye Peicheng never had any private interactions in the novel. Therefore Ye Peicheng should not have known about it.

Ye Peicheng saw Qiao Moyu did not have a reaction so he told her everything that he had learnt today, “Little Moyu, the whole story is just like so or maybe everything was a will of heaven.”

Fortunately the original woman sent to Ye Peicheng’s room woke up or else…

Qiao Moyu also did not know whether the ending would be different if the original owner did not enter Ye Peicheng’s room. Would the original owner still have leapt down the building because she could never find what she searched for?

She suddenly felt somewhat sorrowful but then saw the hurt within Ye Peicheng’s eyes.

Instantly she understood, he was saddened by the actions of Ye Peiqing?

Qiao Moyu held onto Ye Peicheng’s hand, “Ye-gege, your big brother he…”

She considered her wording, “He has never been good to you so don’t give in to him anymore.” She felt a bit choked up as the thought of Ye Peicheng’s ending in the novel came to mind and she could not help but hold his hand tightly.

Ye Peicheng pulled Qiao Moyu to sit by the river and into his embrace, “Little Moyu, I won’t give in anymore. Before, I did not want to cause father any troubles but it looks like some things are just inevitable!”

He stared at the waves in the distance with a deep expression in his eyes, “Once the filming is finished, I will officially announce that I am leaving the entertainment circle. I will put all my energy into company matters!”

After, he stroked Qiao Moyu’s ring finger, “Little Moyu, give me a bit more time. Once I am settled, let’s get married!”

Qiao Moyu was stunned.

Marriage?

It seemed the natural order of things. She has a biological son, the father of her son was now clear and most importantly they both liked each other so marriage of course was the most natural thing to propose.

However in her heart, she was still the girl who was about to attend university and marriage was a distant thought…

Ye Peicheng saw she was distracted and touched her cheek. He took off their face masks and kissed her.

His soft lips was slightly ice-cold from the chill wind.

He sucked on her soft sweetness then after a long time he slightly withdrew but his lips still touched hers, “Little Moyu, it’s good that I found you both.”

Ye Peicheng’s words made Qiao Moyu think about the novel. In the novel, she remembered –

“Ye Peicheng was an ever lasting legend in the entertainment industry. However, he gradually faded out of sight after a few Film Emperor awards. Some say he had wronged his elder brother and was killed off while others say he saw beyond fame or profit and became discouraged. However, his last photo on Weibo was a portrayal of his life. In the photo, he turned his back towards the camera and walked into the distance. And in front of him, was pitch grey, full of loneliness.”

Qiao Moyu’s heart felt it had been stung and she asked him, “Ye-gege, what if I wasn’t the girl from before? Would you still treat me and Luo Luo the same? When you say you have found them, is it because you found me or the original girl?”

Clearly they are the same person so Ye Peicheng did not know why Qiao Moyu asked but he replied seriously, “Little Moyu, I only recently found out the whole story but before I knew the truth, I liked you. So the person I like and have been waiting for are both the current you.”
