The number of shoppers at an upscale shopping mall in the center of the city was pathetically low on a workday.

There was barely anyone in the shops on the first floor. The workers in them were mostly tidying up the shelves.

“We can’t buy shoes. Big Brother already had them custom ordered. He didn’t trust any ready-made ones. They are either uncomfortable and would rub you raw or unsteady when you walk in them. You might fall.”

Gu Shishi, having no choice, walked up and pressed the button for the elevator with one hand holding her stomach.
