Dou Zerui’s friends kept their eyes on the situation from the moment Dou Zerui walked over to Situ Qin’s table.

Initially, they were teasing Dou Zerui for finally finding a girl.

But as time progressed, they noticed something amiss.

The moment the man wanted to hit the woman and Dou Zerui grabbed the culprit’s hand, his friends swore out loud, stood up, and quickly went over.

Dou Zerui’s face turned dark as he grabbed Li Yong’s hand. “Did you have to hit a woman?”

Li Yong felt as though his hand was about to break as Dou Zerui grabbed it. He roared furiously at Dou Zerui, “Get your f*cking hand off of me!”

When Dou Zerui grabbed his wrist, the two other men also stood up.

“Hey. Talk if you have to, but you don’t have to pick a fight, right?”

He was trying to stop them from fighting on the surface, but it sounded like blame shifting.

The two men walked over to pry his hand free.

Dou Zerui laughed coldly inside.

His friends happened to walk over as well.

“What’s going on? Why are you in a fight?”

Zhou Yulin and Yang Peng came right over to stop the two men from helping.

Zhou Yang smiled and said, “Guys, do you have to get violent? Lots of people are looking. We should think twice about getting into a fight.”

Lots of people were pointing and gossiping as they looked over.

The restaurant manager walked over and said, “Hi there. Why don’t we talk calmly instead of getting into a fight? Calm down.”

The restaurant manager knew Dou Zerui, so he asked, “Mr. Dou, what’s going on?”

Dou Zerui flung Li Yong’s hand aside and said coldly, “They were trying to beat a woman, so I came over to help.”

Everyone turned to look at Li Yong.

Zhang Ya was standing by the side looking startled. She suddenly said loudly, “What nonsense? Yong and Situ Qin are dating…”

“Zhang Ya, what a load of bullsh*t!” Situ Qin interrupted right away.

Zhang Ya glared at Situ Qin viciously. Since Situ Qin did not care about them, Situ Qin could not blame her for ruining her reputation! She pointed at Dou Zerui and said, “You knew they were dating, but you got involved with her. You should count yourself lucky that he’s only hitting you.”

Dou Zerui was so angry that he laughed.

Does the man who just attacked her know how many family members she has? Where does she live? What does her family do? Since they were in a flourishing area, there were quite a few police posts located outside. Before long, the cops arrived at the restaurant.

Dou Zerui told the cops about the situation and the restaurant manager sent someone to check the surveillance footage.

After checking the footage, the cops arrested Zhang Ya and the others.

Situ Qin and Dou Zerui also went to the police station to give their statements.

Situ Qin realized the man who came with her not only knew the seafood restaurant manager, but he also knew the cops. It felt as though he could do anything.

Dou Zerui took care of everything and Situ Qin only had to answer a few questions.

By the time they left the police station, one hour had passed.

At this time, it was already past eleven at night. Dou Zerui looked at Situ Qin and asked, “Miss Situ, do you live very far away from here?”

Situ Qin nodded.

It was an hour away from M.Uni if she took a cab.

She suddenly recalled her grandfather back at home who was waiting for her. She hurriedly took out her phone and called Situ Hong.

The moment Situ Hong answered the phone, Situ Qin said anxiously, “Sorry, Grandpa. I spent too much time with my friends and forgot to call. Don’t wait for me. I’m coming back now… Uh huh. My friend is sending me home, so don’t worry. My friends are quite nice. Okay then. Have an early night. I’m going.”

After hanging up the phone, Situ Qin said to Dou Zerui, “Thanks for today. If not for you, I wouldn’t have known how to handle it.”

“I’m good.” Situ Qin automatically turned down his offer and did not want to trouble him. If she did, she would feel guilty about it.

Dou Zerui felt a little worried inside. He had taken a liking to Situ Qin, so he wanted to stay in touch with her. However, he was worried about scaring her off. His mind spun swiftly before he suddenly asked, “Do you know Zi Yi?”

“No, I don’t,” Situ Qin automatically answered cautiously.

Dou Zerui was tickled by her reaction. He did not continue with the subject but instead, he took out his phone and made a call.

After the call went through, he said, “My dear cousin. Do you know someone called Situ Qin?”

Situ Qin opened her eyes wide in shock on hearing this.

Zi Yi was still in the laboratory and she was surprised to get the call. The moment she heard the question, she had an inkling about the reason he had called. “Are you with her? I treated her grandfather before. Her older brother works for Yunxiao.”

Dou Zerui replied, “We ran into some problems earlier and I’m with Miss Situ now. I wanted to send her home, but she suspects that I’m trying to use her.”

The moment he finished his sentence, Dou Zerui deliberately looked at Situ Qin.

Sure enough, her face flushed crimson in embarrassment.

Zi Yi said bluntly, “Can you blame her? Don’t you know you have an especially untrustworthy face?”

Dou Zerui choked at her words.

Zi Yi was busy in the lab and she was worried that Lu Jingye might make her go to bed anytime, so she said, “Hand the phone over to her. I’ll talk to her.”

Dou Zerui passed the phone to Situ Qin.

Despite hearing Zi Yi’s voice, Situ Qin found the situation surreal.

Zi Yi said, “That guy is my cousin. Don’t worry. He’s a good guy. It’s late and you’re out by yourself. If your grandfather found out, I’m sure he’ll be worried. Why don’t you let my cousin give you a ride home?”
