980 Did I Hurt You?

Dou Zerui happened to walk past Situ Qin’s table on the way to the bathroom.

As he walked past the table, he saw a woman pretending to accidentally pour a glass of wine on Situ Qin.

The two of them quickly wiped her clothes a little before Situ Qin got up and went to the bathroom.

The moment Situ Qin was gone, the woman sitting beside Situ Qin at the table picked up Situ Qin’s purse and rummaged through it. He automatically slowed down a little.

He saw the woman retrieving Situ Qin’s phone before he walked past the table. The woman who had gone to the bathroom was very unfortunate to have friends or colleagues like them.

Situ Qin’s phone was secured by a fingerprint lock. After taking out the phone, Zhang Ya said to the three other people, “I can’t unlock her phone.”

Meng Heng took the phone and said, “Leave it to me.”

He quickly worked on Situ Qin’s phone. Sure enough, he unlocked it.

The two other men kept their eyes on the bathroom ready to tell them the moment Situ Qin came out.

Meng Heng quickly found Zi Yi’s number and read it aloud to Zhang Ya.

After taking down Zi Yi’s number, Zhang Ya gestured an okay sign with her fingers to Meng Heng. Meng Heng then placed the phone back into Situ Qin’s purse.

The moment they were done, they continued eating as though nothing had happened.

Situ Qin pondered as she wiped the wine from her clothes. She was very annoyed and she had a feeling that Zhang Ya had spilled wine on her on purpose.

She recalled the way they wanted to use her and her hands froze. Her purse was still outside, and she felt a little worried.

Out of anxiety, when she turned to leave the bathroom, she wasn’t paying attention and walked into someone outside.

“Careful!”

Dou Zerui did not expect someone to suddenly come out of the bathroom and was unable to dodge in time. In the end, he watched as the woman walked into his arms. It was the same woman he saw with the wine on her clothes from outside .

A faint scent wafted toward him making Dou Zerui’s heart suddenly skip a beat.

The woman in his arms automatically retreated. The moment she did, she inadvertently tripped backwards.

Dou Zerui pulled her back up. He looked at her blushing face and asked, “Are you okay?”

Situ Qin was completely embarrassed. She hurriedly said, “My bad. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean it.”

She looked up and asked, “Did I hurt you?”

Dou Zerui felt tickled by the question. He looked at her worried face and said deliberately, “If you did, what do you plan on doing about it?”

Situ Qin said in a serious tone, “If I hurt you, then I’ll send you to the hospital immediately.”

Dou Zerui had never seen such a serious woman in his life. He laughed as he waved his hand. “I was joking. How could you possibly hurt me? Look at how big I am. Since you’re in a hurry, why don’t you go ahead first?”

As he spoke, he gave way and gestured for her to go first like a true gentleman.

Situ Qin smiled and said, “Thanks.”

She then proceeded to leave without looking back.

Dou Zerui felt deeply attracted by her smile. He clutched his throbbing chest and muttered, “Have I been single for too long? Is that why my heart is racing?”

The moment he finished his sentence, he shook his head and tossed it to the back of his mind; he then headed to the bathroom.

When he came out, he happened to see the people at the table toasting Situ Qin.

However, the woman was disinterested in drinking with them.

Dou Zerui thought about the way they secretly took Situ Qin’s phone. He instinctively felt the woman should not hang out with those people anymore. By the time he had realized his actions, he had automatically walked toward her table.

Dou Zerui walked up and stood behind Situ Qin. Everyone at the table turned to look at him. When Situ Qin noticed the figure behind her, she turned to see the man from outside the bathroom smiling warmly at her.

“Situ Qin, who is he?”

After Dou Zerui heard her name, he said, “Qin, are you eating here too? Why didn’t you tell me about it?”

Situ Qin was stunned by the question.

The other people at the table were equally stunned.

Zhang Ya looked at Dou Zerui standing behind Situ Qin and her eyes lit up. She shouted inwardly in excitement. He was gorgeous!

The other three men at the table scrutinized Dou Zerui’s watch and attire and were caught by surprise. Situ Qin had unknowingly gotten to know someone rich.

Did she stop working with them, since she got to know someone wealthy?

They made assumptions about the truth behind Situ Qin’s departure.

Zhang Ya’s voice sounded jealous as she spoke. “Situ Qin, I don’t recall you mentioning you had a boyfriend. How did you get to know this good looking guy?”

“I…” Situ Qin wanted to explain, but Zhang Ya quickly said, “I know our company is small. No wonder you wanted to leave us. Then again, that makes complete sense. It’s important to make advancements. If it were me, I would’ve done the same.”

Situ Qin felt annoyed and said, “Don’t make wild assumptions. This is not the reason I’m quitting.”

“Then why are you leaving?” Zhang Ya spoke in a very harsh tone. Zhang Ya always felt Situ Qin was just slightly prettier than her and that she could not compare to her in other areas. It was unfair for Situ Qin to be able to find a hot and wealthy guy.

“You refused to tell us why you’re leaving the company. Don’t you know we are understaffed? We were good to you. How could you do this to us?”

“Good to me? You always took me for a fool. You simply wanted to use me to get close to Miss Zi. Is that considered treating me well?”

Situ Qin did not want to embarrass anyone initially. But since they had put it so bluntly, there was no reason for her to go easy on them. “Zhang Ya, I overheard your conversation at the mall the other day. You always wanted to use me to get close to Miss Zi, right?”

Everyone looked awkward the moment they heard this.

Dou Zerui was standing beside Situ Qin feeling stunned.

It was quite a small world.

Judging from their expressions, it sounded as though Situ Qin was talking about his cousin, Zi Yi.

Just as he was about to speak, the burly man sitting by the side suddenly put down his chopsticks and said in a stern tone, “Situ Qin, is this why you’re leaving the company? You’re so selfish. You want to make money in the company, but you refuse to make any real contributions.”

“What do you mean by I refuse to make real contributions?” Situ Qin did not want to argue with them initially. However, it was impossible to avoid confrontation at this stage. “I worked in the company for over three months. During my time there, I closed 60% of the deals. How dare you say I didn’t make contributions?”

Another man said in a sarcastic tone, “Those small deals you closed aren’t even enough for our daily expenses. What’s wrong with using your connection to Miss Zi to help find big clients? We aren’t greedy. We just want what’s best for the company, right?”

“I told you. Miss Zi is my family’s benefactor, so I can’t use her.”

“You motherf*king…”

Li Yong slammed the table and wanted to get up and strike Situ Qin.

But as he raised his hand to deliver a strike, a large hand stopped him from the other side.
