Arthur gasped in low pants, inhaling her scent.

He bared his fangs in some anger. He had never been the target of such contempt.

And it was even contempt from a lowly prey who could only depend on him to live.

Bai Weiwei regarded him with complete indifference, even as her body was racked with torment from the toxins.

But she didn’t seem to have been affected.

“Why do you not continue? Your Highness the honorable prince.”

She taunted him.

This kind of disgusted attitude completely lacked any fear of life or death.

Her gaze left him disappointed.

Arthur suddenly yanked off the silver hair ribbon around his wrist and covered those disrespectful eyes of hers.

Bai Weiwei jerked but had no strength to stop him.

Arthur pulled the ends into a tight knot.

She lay beneath him, eyes covered in a blindfold. There was a trace of horror on her face, but it was much more pleasing to the eyes than her disgust towards him.

Arthur smiled coolly, but he couldn’t resist the temptation and continued to lower his head to proceed with this unwilling entanglement.

He pressed against her face, relishing in her trembles and struggles.

“Why are you struggling? Such pleasant things, why can’t you submit to your desires?”

For the first time, he itched with impatience to drag in a human to completely drown in such passion.

How could he be tempted, yet she could still remain clear-headed?

Arthur lowered his head and kissed her face, unaware of how gentle his movements were.

Then he heard her murmur incoherently.

He perked up an ear in curiosity.

And he heard her say in a choked voice, “When you rescued me, I had thought you were very gentle…”

These words were so quiet that if not for the Blood Kins’ sharp hearing, it would have been nearly impossible to hear them.

She mumbled, “It hurts…”

Sorrow rested upon her lips.

Betrayed by her relative and forced by him. The pain she suffered in just one night caused her to nearly collapse.

Arthur froze. His gaze fell upon her face.

The hair ribbon tied around her eyes was wet.

He didn’t know what came over him as he dipped his head to lick the ribbon, tasting those tears.

They weren’t sweet at all.

They were even salty, so salty that they made him frown.

He commanded coldly, “Stop crying. You really don’t know what’s good for you. Isn’t it easier to obey me?”

Why continue to resist?

The pampering he gave her could allow her to do as she pleased, to do whatever she wanted to do.

Wasn’t this the most desirable thing for humans?

Bai Weiwei didn’t speak. She breathed heavily, and those feeble struggles stopped.

Arthur thought she was listening to his words.

A faint trace of complacence flashed in his eyes. “As a prince-level Blood Kin’s blood slave, you can have anything you want.”

Arthur tenderly cupped her face, leaning closer with warm eyes.

His expression changed, and he tore away the hair ribbon.

Her eyes were tightly shut, her brows furrowed and her face completely pale.

Her breaths were chaotic, and even her pulse twitched rapidly.

For an instant, Arthur’s movements slowed. The next second, without a moment of thought, he picked her up, leaped out of the coffin, and sprinted out.
