Chapter 185: Something’s on Your Mind

Shi Beiyu sounded like he was mad at Mu Siyin.

She paused for a while before whispering, “Are you mad?”

Shi Beiyu did not reply.

Ever since that night, he felt like Mu Siyin and he were separated by a tall barrier. It made him irritated, defeated, and helpless.

“No.”

After hearing this, Mu Siyin nodded her head lightly. “Good, then. Go and do your thing. I’m going to hang up now.”

“Okay.”

After ending the call, Mu Siyin laid down on the bed with mixed feelings. Things between them had turned tense, and she did not like it at all.

However… Whenever she wanted to flash Shi Beiyu a smile, the image of that girl in the white dress would pop out on her head uncontrollably.

She closed her eyes as helplessness overwhelmed her. She was overthinking again.

Just like that, she spent the entire afternoon dwelling on her thoughts. When it was past 5:00 p.m., she started to get ready before heading out to visit Ji Yang.

By then, Mu Xingyu and Li Tongzhi were well-rested. They looked energetic as they sat in the living room watching television. Noticing how delicate Mu Siyin’s makeup was and that she was heading out at this time, they frowned.

The moment the Old Madam saw this, she took the rare initiative to ask, “Are you going on a date, Yinyin?”

Mu Siyin knew that the Old Madam was desperate for her to say yes. Unfortunately, she would not heed her wishes.

“Ji Yang needs me for something. I’ve already made plans with her.”

She ignored the disappointed look on the Old Madam’s face and walked out of the building.

Excitement roared at the bottom of Mu Xingyu and Li Tongzhi’s hearts.

Since she was not going out with that vile man, did it mean they had broken up?

They were so elated that they almost screamed in joy!

They did not care if it was beneficial to the company or not. All they wished for was Mu Siyin’s breakup. That way, no one would have Mu Siyin’s back, and the woman could no longer be so arrogant and proud.

Mu Siyin walked out of the building and wanted to call a cab as usual. However…

To her surprise, she saw the bodyguard’s familiar car.

“Please get in, Miss Mu.”

Such familiar words.

Mu Siyin smiled, and without further petulance, she opened the car door to get in.

Shi Beiyu had probably sent him to pick her up.

The thought of it left a bittersweet feeling in her heart. It was a complicated feeling.

Ji Yang was 5 minutes early. She instantly frowned the moment she landed her eyes on Mu Siyin. Then, she lifted her hand and pointed at the latter. “You. Something’s on your mind.”

Mu Siyin closed the door with the back of her hand and burst out laughing. “What are you talking about?”

Ji Yang folded her arms and lifted her chin slightly. Within a second, she turned into an interrogation officer. “You may be careful, but you can’t fool me. Tell me. What’s going on?”

Upon hearing this, Mu Siyin had no choice but to walk over. She let out a soft sigh. “You criminal police are really scary.”

Ji Yang lifted an eyebrow. “Of course. How can I be a criminal police if I can’t see through such a small thing?”

Mu Siyin knew that her act had failed. Hence, she gave in and rested her chin on her palm depressingly. Looking at Ji Yang, she said, “His family doesn’t approve of our relationship.”

Ji Yang paused for a while before she nodded her head thoughtfully. “It’s expected.”

Mu Siyin drooped her eyelids helplessly. “Do you think that I’m not a good match for him, too?”

Ji Yang shook her head. “I don’t. It’s just that… the gap in both of your social statuses is really massive. Even an average person would say you both are not a good match at first sight, much less his family?”

Ji Yang’s analysis made sense. As such, Mu Siyin could only let out a bitter smile as she nodded her head. “What would you do if you were me?”

Ji Yang tutted. “I wouldn’t give a d*mn about them if I were you. Who cares about what they think? All that matters is that you’re happy with Shi Beiyu.”
