Chapter 184: I Want More Than That

By lunchtime, Li Tongzhi and Mu Xingyu had finally cleaned up the place.

The duo was so tired that they looked just like toads. Seeing this, Mu Siyin raised her eyebrow and smiled. “I didn’t think you guys would have such good cleaning skills. We should just fire two of our servants and let you handle their work, Auntie Li. After all, you have nothing to do at home, so why not find something to do? It saves you from boredom too.”

Li Tongzhi had an urge to throw her pork rib soup at Mu Siyin’s face!

Mu Siyin obviously wanted to order her around like a servant! Over her dead body!

Mu Xingyu grunted coldly. “Have you ever seen the lady of the house doing a servant’s job?”

Mu Siyin lifted an eyebrow and looked at Mu Xingyu. “Isn’t Grandma the lady of our house? Since when was it you, Auntie Li?”

Li Tongzhi’s hands were trembling so much that her soup almost spilled out of the porcelain bowl. She hurriedly glanced at a solemn-looking Old Madam Mu before she honeyed, “Mu Siyin was setting up a trap for Xingyu to piss you off, Mom. Don’t be mad.”

Old Madam Mu snorted lightly. “Are you saying that you should be the head of this household?”

Li Tongzhi’s heart leaped out of her chest. She placed down her bowl, smiled, and said, “How can that be? You’ve always been the head of the household in this family. When has it ever been me? Xingyu was just spurting nonsense in a fit of anger.”

Mu Xingyu could only clench her teeth as she tried her best to suppress the fury in her heart and joined her mother in sugar-coating her Grandma. “I didn’t think twice before I spoke, Grandma. Don’t get offended by it.”

The Old Madam let out a sigh before she glanced at how happy Mu Siyin looked. Then, she grunted softly. “Forget about it. Come, let’s eat.”

At that moment, Li Tongzhi and Mu Xingyu could not bear to skin Mu Siyin alive!

The duo was so exhausted that they did not have any energy to fight a battle of wits with Mu Siyin. Hence, after lunch, they went back to their rooms to rest with a bitter look on their faces.

On the other hand, Mu Siyin was feeling rather okay. In fact, it felt quite refreshing to clean up the house once in a while.

Mu Siyin had just gotten to her room when her phone rang. She walked up to the cabinet by her bedside and noticed that it was Shi Beiyu.

She hesitated but picked up the phone eventually and answered the call.

“Why didn’t you answer my calls?”

Shi Beiyu’s voice sounded rather down.

Mu Siyin dropped her eyelids and muttered, “My phone wasn’t with me. I had no idea you were calling.”

Shi Beiyu kept silent. Since Mu Siyin had already put it that way, what else could he say?

After a while, he asked again, “Why didn’t you go to the company today?”

Mu Siyin paused for a while before murmuring, “I argued with Mu Xingyu today. My dad made us stay at home to clean up the house.”

Shi Beiyu was taken aback by her response. He had never anticipated this to be the reason for her absence at work.

“It looks like… they’re giving you a hard time again.” Shi Beiyu knitted his brows together tightly, and his tone turned cold.

Mu Siyin let out a soft sigh.”It wasn’t that bad. We were just arguing like normal. You don’t have to worry about it.”

“Okay. I’ll come to pick you up at night.”

Mu Siyin immediately replied, “I’ve made plans with Yangyang tonight.”

Shi Beiyu’s face darkened the moment he heard Ji Yang’s name. His face looked so gloomy that it could rain anytime.

“Her again?”

Mu Siyin raised an eyebrow. “She’s my best friend. Isn’t it normal for us to go out for a meal together?”

“But I’m your boyfriend. Why can’t you have a meal with me instead?”

Mu Siyin was utterly speechless.

When had she ever neglected him?

“Didn’t we just meet last night?”

“I want more than that.”

His words put Mu Siyin in a difficult position. “But I really have made plans with her tonight.”

Shi Beiyu let out a soft sigh. He could only comply with her schedule. “Okay. Just go.”
