Chapter 2207.1: Evidence of Possession

A massive army bore down on Dark City outside the city walls. One million cultivators of golden core and above assembled into a massive battle formation that completely cut off the capital. A man emanating a terrifying aura stood in the air over the army.

“A soul separation cultivator?” Lu Yun looked solemnly at several others hovering in the sky.

“Not only that, but there are also several immortals hidden within the army,” Lu Tianling breathed out heavily. “It’s thanks to your boundary that Dark City hasn’t fallen already.”

The gray jiao and Terra Demon were in seclusion to refine the Shennong Life Restoring Pill; they were yet to emerge. It was a pill greater than ninth rank immortal pills. As such, it wasn’t something that the two could easily digest at their current stage.

But once they succeeded, their strength would improve on a quantitative level and they would no longer fear high level immortals from the Origin Sect.

“Situ Wenxian and Lu Tianling, the Ouyang family’s Ouyang Shengxiang is betrothed to this crown prince. Do you think nothing of Dark Orchid Empire to stand in our way at every possible turn?” Dressed in white robes, Crown Prince Wang Song stood on a flying treasure and hovered over the army. His bearing was extraordinary and his aura indicated initial soul projection.

“If the crown prince is here to welcome his bride, why the army?” Lu Tianling barked with laughter before the emperor could respond.

“Hahahaha!!” Wang Song sneered back. “Lu Tianling, you covet Ouyang Shengxiang’s connate fragrance constitution and want to snatch her for your trash grandson. Do you think this matter has gone undetected?”

“Oh?” Lu Tianling smirked at the crown prince.

“This old man can bear witness!” An elder darted out of the Dark Orchid army. It was the one that Lu Yun had met at the Ouyang Clan—Ouyang Biegui. He’d left the capital after Lu Youya’s death and escaped the purge of Dark City. To think that he’d reappear at this time!

“Lu Tianling, you savage! How would the family not know about your attempt to claim the Ouyang’s connate fragrance constitution?” Ouyang Biegui bit off his words as he glared heatedly at Lu Tianling on the city walls. Hate filled his tone and he seemed ready to rip the other to pieces through the sheer force of his stare.

“Grandpa… you saved this guy’s life before, didn’t you?” Lu Yun turned merrily to his grandfather. He didn’t bother to hush his voice and nearly everyone heard him since those present were of a high cultivation.

“Junior, I am speaking to your family elder! What right do you have to interrupt!” A cruel glint shone in Ouyang Biegui’s eyes when he heard Lu Yun.

“By the right that this young master can beat you so badly that you won’t be able to tell which direction the sun is shining from!” Lu Yun answered promptly.

“You!” Ouyang Biegui’s chest heaved as he forced down his anger.

“What about me?” Lu Yun curled his lip. “A dog will wag its tail at its savior, but an old dog like you bites your benefactor!”

“Do you not dare admit to what you’ve done, Lu Tianling, and send a brat to stir up the waters?!” Ouyang Biegui ignored Lu Yun and bawled at the Lu patriarch.

“Heh heh heh…” Lu Tianling chuckled, contempt in his eyes. Ouyang Biegui suddenly felt that he’d punched a ball of cotton.

“Hand over Ouyang Shengxiang, Lu Tianling, and we’ll stand down,” Wang Song said expressionlessly.

“Ouyang Shengxian? She’s an Ouyang, so do whatever you’d like, Your Highness.” Lu Tianling shrugged carelessly.

“Lu Tianling!” A tragic voice rang out from Dark City. “Hand over my sister!!”

A figure appeared on the ramparts. “You old dog, you took my sister and imprisoned my family! You’re completely crazy!”

It was Ouyang Shengtian. Golden light sparkled around him as he pointed a massive golden spear at Lu Tianling. The young man’s aura raged to the sky and his energy ripples showed that he was a soul separation cultivator.

“You seek death!” Lu Yun exploded at hearing someone insult his grandfather. He was never lucky enough to have familial ties in his reincarnations, so he quite valued the ones he had in this life. It also meant that he very much held double standards.

He could call someone an old dog, but that could never be used on his grandfather!

A red flame rose around him as he pounced on the Ouyang genius.

“Do you really think I can’t beat you, Lu Yun?!” Ruthlessness blossomed in Ouyang Shengtian’s eyes. He’d stayed put all this time due to fear of Terra Demon. “Hahahaha! My power? Someone else’s power? Whatever can defeat you is absolute power!” Ouyang Shengtian threw his head back with a long peal of laughter, wholly unafraid of Lu Yun’s attack. He brandished his spear into a ray of golden light and directed it at Lu Yun’s sword light. At the same time, he crossed his hands in front of his chest and condensed a spot of golden light in front of him that slowly expanded outward.

“An image of heaven and earth… one that makes use of a dao weapon!” Situ Wenxian identified solemnly. “The little guy is in trouble now.”
