Just as the hordes of animal approached, that’s when they could all hear that loud thundering sound of explosions in the air. Towards this, Chen Minzhi couldn’t be anymore uglier in his face because that could only mean help won’t be arriving.

Damn these people, they really did set up a wall of traps outside. Now I can’t even call for the animals until they break through everything!

“Your people over there does have some ability, shame though, it’s all in vain.” Revealing a perceptible madness in his eyes, the boy orders the giant elephant to rush at A’bone to take out the threat.

“Little Squeak, go!” Ling Yue timely cries out for her friend to charge as well.

In a flash of brilliance, all they could see was another magnificent creature coming in at full throttle to collide with the elephant’s body. And likely it’s because Purple could still vividly remember his last encounter with the white fluffball in his secondary form, the giant guy actually hesitated to move for a split second like he wants to retreat.

At first Chen Minzhi was still indifferent to the oncoming attack because his spell was about ready. Unfortunately, when he did manage to shoot the spell out, the burst of light just disappeared when trying to make contact with its target. That’s the sign of it being ineffective!

“How is it possible! There’s no effect!” He exclaims, not believing his own eyes.

If only this ignorant boy knew the truth. As an ancient primal beast, Little Squeak was not only immune to the ordinary types of taming spells out there, he could even counter it by taming the other side if he was strong enough himself!

But as someone who spent months diving into the secrets of the Beastial Sect, there’s no way the lad wouldn’t have an ace up his sleeve. Making a grunting sound, he flicks open a wound on his fingertip to let it bleed. That’s the obvious act of someone trying to form a blood contract!

Swoosh~ A gust of wind suddenly blows over, causing the man to shy away due to the dust in his eyes.

Now that was a mistake. By the time he turned around to look for the source of this irritation, that’s when the Soul Reaping Chains had reached him and Purple’s side, binding them and sealing their powers in the process.

Yet instead of showing utter rage at the sneak attack, the man actually burst into a hysterical laughter, “It’s too late, hahaha! A’bone, the blood pool is already dry now, the power of the Beastial Sect is mine!”

“That may not be so, Chen Minzhi, did you forget I also have a pang of your hair when you took mine?” Standing beside the pool was A’bone, her hand holding the indicated item as well like a dangling charm ready to be dropped inside.

It’s no lie that the blood’s about to go dry, close enough to see the bottom even, but there’s still enough to change the outcome!

“By your own doing, I’ve found the last secret of the Beastial Sect in the cave yesterday. Like how you stole my power, I too will use the same method to retake what’s mine!” Revealing a frosty grin, A’bone actually had the making of a mighty warrior usually only found in the battlefield with that look.

“No! Impossible!” Chen Minzhi still wanted to resist, but everything was too late when that pang of hair came plummeting down after the girl released her grasp.

The timing was perfect. In the nick of time right before the last drop of blood evaporates, the hair made contact and literally explodes into a gush of raging heat, signaling the end of the ritual for good. And as another sign of it working, Chen Minzhi’s body was also undergoing a strange transformation.

That stoic body of a young man, well…. it could hardly be called young anymore as the essence of the Beastial Sect withdrew from his veins. His stature was literally shrinking at a perceptible speed like something was draining his very life. Very quickly, Chen Minzhi had fallen off the giant elephant’s back and curled into a fetal position on the ground.

“My, that’s my power of inheritance.” Even when things have come this far, the man still doesn’t give up and tries to reach out with his hand like its able to grasp onto something. But things wouldn’t change just because one wishes it. Very soon, the struggling husk that was Chen Minzhi has breathed its last breath, bringing an end to all this chaos.

Although the blood pool could bring great power to the person trying to go through with the ritual, but once its lost, the consequences are dire and fatal. That’s exactly what happened here.

“Chief, I think I’m about to have a breakthrough.” Looking down at the unmoving corpse next to herself, A’bone suddenly mutters this out like she’s come to terms with life.

“Not good, it’s likely the power of the blood pool that’s causing it. Quick, we must find a safe place for her while she breaks into the reincarnation realm. We will act as her guard during this period.” Casting her eyes up at the sky, Ling Yue could see an ocean of dark pressuring clouds swiftly rolling over to their location.

This was not her first time witnessing someone going through this process, that’s why she could tell it won’t be long before A’bone begins her ascension into a higher level.

“This kid, black hearted and evil inside, it’s better to call him my kin than a human. Not bad, and here I was fretting on what to use as my disguise for the Star Cave Venture in North Qing. Your skin will be the perfect disguise for me.” Casting his eyes down at the dried husk of a body, a sinister grin gave this mysterious being a bone chilling vibe that one couldn’t even begin to describe.
