It’s been a long time coming for Chen Minzhi. He has always been an ambitious person even at a very young age. His whole family knew this. Sadly, his natural talent didn’t meet that ego and thus forced him to keep it under check. However, that all changed once his older brother brought back the news of the Beastial Sect’s hidden location.

He will never forget that day where he nearly lost his life at the hands of the wild beasts in this forest. Back then he didn’t have a clue where the ruins were, nor was he and his men prepared for the dangers that awaited them. As a result of that folly, the guards that came with him were all killed in the process and he himself lost within the endless greeneries of the forest.

Then as all hope was lost, that’s when he first met A’bone. The girl was like a king when she first appeared, riding on the giant elephant’s back with no worry at all. Nothing could erase that halo from his eyes forward.

Since then, he swore he would get his hands on the power of inheritance, which will soon become a reality once he reaches the ritual site up ahead.

This area used to be Purple’s (elephant) den only until recently. From what used to be a tranquil site filled with banana trees, what was left now was but a scene filled with carnage. Bones scattered everywhere with the foul stench of blood in the air.

All of this for what? All for that pool of blood in the epicentre that’s meant to be the altar of the ritual.

The secret method used for the transfer of power was simple. Slay enough animals to fill a whole pool with blood and then have two alchemists to preside over the incantations. Once it completely dries out then that’s when the ritual truly becomes complete.

Chen Minzhi could feel it for himself already. After six days of repeating this process, his body told him he only needs to complete this one last trip for everything to be done. By then, the power of the Beastial Sect would truly be his.

“There is only one hour left. From now on, I am the king of this entire ancient forest,” he let’s out an ecstatic cry of excitement after seeing how close the blood came to drying out.

“You don’t deserve it Chen Minzhi!” The abrupt scream from the side instantly causes the boy to freeze up.

“A’bone! How can you be alive?” There was incredulous and disbelief in the man’s eye as he watched that feministic figure descend from the sky.

Way back in the early morning, his close confidants had already informed him of the cave completely collapsing with the flames burning everything inside. That’s why it came as a real shock to find the supposed dead to be alive again.

“Of course you would want me to be dead. Let me tell you this now, you can forget about having your evil ways with the ancient forest so long as I am alive.” Clenching her fingers into a crunching ball, the wild girl roars out with intense rage in her eyes.

“Che, you are still so naïve A’bone. Back then you were able to drive me out of the ancient forest because you had the power of inheritance on your side. Without it, what can you do? In fact, you aren’t even qualified to fight me, let alone make demands. Don’t worry, once the blood pool dries up and the matter is settled, I will be sure to let you know what it means to suffer under a man.” Grinning maliciously, Chen Minzhi began cackling like a villainous character who just met a valuable prey.

“That may not be the case, she at least has us with her.” Rushing out of their hiding spots following this announcement, it was Ling Yue and her friends the He Lao brothers who jumped out.

This didn’t sit well with the boy at all. Dispersing the arrogance from his face, Chen Minzhi’s attitude instantly made a three-sixty as he shot a signaling arrow into the sky. Sadly, there’s no way his attempt at calling for help would work when his enemies came so well prepared.

Dashing up into the air like a bullet, Little Squeak made quick work of snatching the signaling arrow back down to the ground and handing it over to his mistress.

“Mister young lord over there, are you trying to summon your men? Shame though, they’re way too busy to even help themselves so you can ditch that idea.” Fiddling the arrow in her hands, Ling Yue’s very act was a taunt to her foe and a indication that she’s in charge.

This time it was Chen Minzhi’s turn to panic. From those words alone, he could already tell his men are tied up in battle back outside, which was absolutely true. The old monster and the battle alchemists are currently fighting the soldiers from the Kai Jiang Manor feverously so there’s not going to be any help coming.

“Fine then, it would seem I’ve underestimated your abilities. I only intended to take the powers of inheritance for myself and that’s it, but you’ve pushed me and now I’m forced to kill you all for good. A’bone, this is your own fault so don’t blame me.” Getting up from the elephant’s back that he was riding on, the man issues out a sky piercing howl to reverberate across the entire jungle.

There’s no way A’bone wouldn’t know what the man was trying to do. Sure enough, almost at the same time as she thought this, Chen Minzhi’s aura instantly skyrocketed, followed by a series of strange noises across the landscape.

At first the sound was still far away, but with each passing second it only grew louder and louder until even the grounds were trembling.

Compared to the full force of the entire ancient forest, Ling Yue and her peers are hardly a match. In fact, they are no better than ants in front of a horde of rampaging spirit beasts.

“A’bone, for the sake of our past relationship, I will have Purple here send you along to the afterlife as an act of mercy.” There’s not an ounce of human left in those eyes of the boy, only the bloodthirsty light of an animal waiting to pounce.
