When they arrived home, Madam Jin had sensed that something was up between the couple. Even the twins were aware that something was going on between their adoptive parents.

“Are they fighting?” Shen Yuyan asked worriedly. She was afraid to lose both of them in their lives.

“It’s okay, dear.” Madam Jin reassured the young girl, patting her head. “It’s normal for a married couple to argue about random things.”

But she knew that her Young Master and his wife weren’t caught up in a fight. If she would be bold to say, it was tension between the two. Good tension, at that. She wondered if the twins would get a new sibling soon. Ah, but with Lu Xinyi attending Silver Leaf anytime soon, Madam Jin could only hope and had wishful thinking.

“Leave them be for now. I’m sure they’ll make up soon.”

The two made their way silently towards their bedroom, but Lu Xinyi broke it with her seductive voice.

“Will you please kiss me again?”

“Hmm?” was his response which made his wife let out a silent laugh. She brushed her hand on his exposed arm and saw him shiver at her touch.

“That isn’t a yes,” she told him as he opened their bedroom door. They made it inside. He quickly locked the door before he had pressed her against it, his mouth on hers again. Gods above, his wife did taste divine. She tasted wonderfully good, better than the dishes she’d made for him. She was so intoxicating, better than any alcohol he tasted in his lifetime.

“Xinyi, remember this. As long as you have me and you are mine, no one can get away unscathed if they dare to hurt you.” He told her as he grabbed her wandering hands that had successfully unbuttoned his shirt and pinned them beside her head against the door.

“I’m forever yours,” Lu Xinyi whispered before his mouth was on hers. This time, gentler. His hands released hers to cup the sides of her face.

Lu Xinyi gasped when his arms slid around her pressing her body firmly against his wondrous lean form. She wrapped her arms around him and brought her legs around his waist as he lifted her up. She let out a giggle when Shen Yi unceremoniously dropped her on their massive bed. She couldn’t tell how many times she blushed and felt embarrassed whenever Shen Yi made love to her. With that gaze he was giving her, it made her body respond with heat and desire for him.

Splayed on the bed, she stared upon her almost topless husband. Lu Xinyi wondered if it was normal to get a massive crush on one’s own husband. She felt like a lovesick teenager whenever he looked at her. She licked her lips as he pulled off his shirt but didn’t have a chance to survey his body like she wanted to—as his body was instantly on top on hers, his mouth on hers and drowning her in a passionate kiss.

It was the kind of kiss that will drown, consume, and possess someone. Lu Xinyi loved how Shen Yi made her feel needed and wanted. It was rather pleasant as her hands trailed on his toned muscles. Shen Yi scowled when his eyes landed on the darkening bruise on her arm. It was an irritating him since her skin was so fair and flawless, and the bruise was a perfect contrast to it.

His eyes narrowed as he studied the bruise on her arm. He wanted to wake her up to ask her what happened between her and Gong Yijun earlier. It irked him that he wasn’t around to protect her at times she needed him the most. It infuriated him further that she was defenseless as she went out in public. As the president’s wife, it was a protocol to have her own bodyguards, but she vehemently refused his attempts to do so.

“Xinyi,” he repeated insistently; Lu Xinyi cracked an eye to look at him at their dim lit room.

“Hmm, let me sleep. I’m tired.” She moaned and snuggled deeper into the pillow again. Her husband frowned, clearly annoyed that he could not get the information he needed from her. Holding her hand, he stared at her sleeping form. Just like what he had said earlier, whoever had hurt her was going to suffer his wrath; and he would make sure that she would not suffer any longer this time. Lu Xinyi had suffered enough.

Shen Yi got up from the bed, dragged on his pants, and disappeared to his study to make a phone call. After three consecutive rings, Qiao He picked up his call.

“I want you to find that rat again. It seemed that breaking his arm and nose wasn’t enough for him to leave my wife alone.”
