Chapter 79 - Maybe, You Can Do Something To Persuade Me?

Side of his lips was curled up into a small, confident and, charming smile. His eyes glimmered with blazing intensity as he continued to pin Chen Yi with his heated gaze. 

It took a few seconds for Chen Yi to register his words; especially when her thoughts were continuously being swayed away by that handsome face that was up so close and all she wanted to do was to... 

'Ding'

"Let's go." Li Luxian said; suddenly broking the spell he had put her under. His voice was barely more than a whisper; yet in the silent environment where Chen Yi could hear her own rapid heartbeats, it was enough to snap her out of the trance he had put her into.

With that said, he let go of her hands that were grasping his collar tightly and walked out of the elevator gracefully like a noble that he truly was. 

'did you really think I would always be as nice as gentle as I was back at my parent's home?'

Chen Yi's mind replayed his words and suddenly, she blinked. 

What did exactly his words mean?

Did it mean that he had been restraining himself all the time at his parent's home?

When Chen Yi gave it a thought, she felt it was more probable than anything else. After all, he had already made his desire towards her pretty obvious; his intentions towards pursuing her were crystal clear. And... he obviously could not have done something too extreme at his parents' house. 

All the time she thought he had been very gentle and passive... was it all because of his parents?

That to say from now on, he would no longer be that passive?

Was it the purpose behind his words? To tell her that he was not going to be as obedient as he was before? That from now on he was going to be very dangerous...

Suddenly Chen Yi regretted stepping out of that safe haven that his parent's home was.

"What are you dawdling for?" Li Luxian turned back and asked with a sly smile. Something about his smile made Chen Yi feel like he knew exactly what was going through her head.

"I'm coming." Chen Yi turned. When she stepped out of the elevator, her eyes shimmered with an intensity that paralleled that of her husband. She did not avoid his gaze, instead, she directly faced him.

'He doesn't think that someone like me will be afraid of such a little warning? If he wants to come at me, then he should come with all preparation! I will not hide away but face him head-on.'

Chen Yi caught a glimmer of something in his eyes and paused. Amusement? Astonishment?

"Wait!" Chen Yi stopped in her tracks. "Where are you taking me. Isn't this your...condo?"

Li Luxian expressions faltered. An expression that read he could not understand why his wife was asking such an obvious question appeared on his handsome face. "Haven't we already discussed this?"

"Huh?" Chen Yi blinked in confusion.

At this, Li Luxian very patiently explained. "Since you think it would be a bother to live separately with just this little distance, I had asked the servants to already arrange your belongings in my condo."

Chen Yi: "..."

To think he was joking at that time...

Ah, why! Why did she again underestimate his shamelessness when she had already decided that this crazy man can do anything?!

Why did she disregard that golden 'expect the unexpected' rule from the members of the Li family?!

"My little wife, why is your face getting red. Are you alright?"

"Tell me, dear hubby..." Chen Yi laughed as if she had heard some joke. The next second, her face shifted. "Had this been your plan since the beginning?!" Her gaze turned cold.

Li Luxian revealed shocked expressions. 

However, within his eyes, there was a subtle hint of amusement. That subtle emotion didn't escape Chen Yi's eyes and betrayed his overall 'acting' of being shocked.

This only added to Chen Yi agitation. 

"Why would you say that? I only did what my wife suggested." With the perfect tone of a victim being wrongly accused, he spoke.

Chen Yi's face twitched.

"You are going to get you people have my things taken to another place!" Chen Yi ignored his words and asserted.

"And if I don't?" Li Luxian challenged while raising her eyebrow.

"Don't test my patience, Mr. Li."

"The contract states in a clause that you are obliged to take all those steps necessary to ensure that our relationship seems legit in front of my family."

This Devil came with full-fledged preparation, didn't he?

"I have already taken all those steps in front of your family. And I am certain your family no longer doubts our relationship."

"Well, Ms. Chen, you underestimate my father." Folding his arms in front of him, Li Luxian leaned against the wall. "He might have sent people to keep an eye on us. If he gets the slightest suspicion them bam! All of this would be for naught."

"You are the ultra-powerful CEO of a mega-conglomerate. Despite your father's supervision, I know exactly that the real power behind your family rests in your hands. I am certain with your influence, you can easily have those spies spotted and persuaded to join you!" Chen Yi narrowed her eyes at him.

At this, Li Luxian shrugged. "Too much bother. I will just have you live with me since you are obliged to than get myself into so many complicated problems."

Chen Yi felt like hitting someone. No matter what, he was right. She had read the contract clauses well. She was obliged to live with him. But, at that time, she did not mind since he was just a stranger for her.

But as their connections grew, she started caring for him. She didn't want to put him in danger by living with him.

She was doing it for him. Why had he to be so stubborn?

"Unless..." Li Luxian suddenly said.

Chen Yi heard him and immediately looked up. "Unless what?" If there was another option, she would surely opt for it.

Li Luxian crossed the distance between them. His finger lifted up her chin; his deep limpid eyes gazed into her shimmering eyes as he said: "Unless.... Maybe, you can do something to persuade me?" His lips curled up into a suggestive smirk.
