Chapter 103 - Ball Dance Party Part 1

The object of their destination was going to be a cause of Chen Yi awe. 

Yet, unaware of the magnificence of the event she was going to attend with the equally imposing identity of her husband, Chen Yi pursed her lips in defiance as she looked anywhere but in Li Luxian direction.

Her beautiful eyes shone under the silver mask.

Not soon afterward, from a distance, she discerned sparklings and splendor that congregated at the entrance of a venue. Her eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "Are you certain no one will recognize me?" She asked, suddenly uncertain after discovering the enormous crowd.

Li Luxian had not told her much about this event, leaving her to discover everything on her own when the time came.

Through his mask, Li Luxian glanced at the inexplicable woman by his side. 

He could not help but compare her incentives to the countless other women who had pestered him, countless women his family had tried to shove down his throat worried to have him married before Chen Yi stumbled into his life.

Those women would strive with their all to be seen in the public by his side. In fact, if he said that they cared more to be 'seen' by his side than actually 'be' by his side, it won't be wrong.

His hatred towards women stemmed from this very selfish behavior he had to endure.

Those so-called high-class women who cared for nothing more than their status and reputation, willing to cross all boundaries, having no sense of morality all the while having this assumption that they stand on higher grounds and are superior to others... This sort of women disgusted him to no end.

And yet this woman not only did not want to be seen by his side but she was worried.

If he did not know that this mysterious woman hid something in her past, he would have been in a serious dilemma trying to figure her out. Of course, there was some hidden reason she did not want to be seen by his side. As of yet, he did not plan to pursue that reason. "Don't be anxious." Li Luxian assured her with a gentle smile.

The black, sleek limousine pulled at the entrance of the grand venue. Hundreds of reporters from the mainstream media channels adjusted their cameras. When the chauffeur walked briskly to the right side of the limo and held open with a slight reverent bow, a tall and devastatingly handsome man emerged in the sight.

As if being hit by a sudden flash of lightning, everyone was sent into a state of shock — before the aggressive flashes of cameras brightened the night sky.

Under thousands of flashes, the man elegantly walked to the other side of the car, undazed and totally natural despite blinding lights. The way he carried himself, with an ingrained grace in his gait, that, coupled with his refined attire and magnetizing bearing, it created a magical scene. 

He personally opened the door to the other side and extended his hand forward. 

Despite the mask, a few reporters that had once the chance to witness that man's imposing aura came to recognize him due to that unforgettable impeccable bearing.

"This is definitely President. Li, the heir of the 'Li' family."

After that announcement, the flashes became even more intense.

"But don't you find it peculiar? By how far I recall, the aloof character like President Li would never open a door for his partner. More often, he would opt to not attend such events, and even when he did, he would prefer to attend them alone." Someone said skeptically.

After that everyone's thoughts shifted to the recent uprisal on media.

"Don't tell me he is finally bringing out his wife for the public appearance!"

"Hasn't President Li been very secretive of the whole affair regarding the identity of his wife? Is he finally planning on introducing her in the social circle?"

"If that's the case, it will is an opportunity sent by heavens!" A young reporter exclaimed, his words carrying hidden meaning.

All of them focused their cameras to get the best shot of the mysterious woman who had seized the position beside the country's top eligible bachelor.

People had already expectations in their hearts. It was subtly hinted in media talk shows that President Li's wife was not from the higher class. It was also hinted that she had an ugly appearance and thus, that was the reason behind the lack of public appearances.

They said that she also lacked proper bearing and confidence.

She was sure to be baffled after witnessing a huge load of reporters for the first time and make a blunder.

Thus the reporters were prepared to capture and target any shortcoming in President Li's wife, magnify it and make a big fuss about it.

However, they were bound to be met with disappointment.

At that instant, a slender hand extended out and placed itself over Li Luxian hand. Li Luxian's hold tightened, with a subtle smile on his lips, he guided a devastatingly beautiful woman out, shocking everyone into silence with her appearance.

For a brief period, even the flashings of cameras halted as people took in her heaven shaking beauty, stunned.

The whole scene appeared to be direct out of some fantasy as a handsome man escorted his equally beautiful wife to the entrance of the venue.

"Are you nervous?" Whispered Li Luxian close to her ear.

"Nervous and me?" Chen Yi chuckled softly. 

Although she had still not set her foot in the entertainment industry once she did, she would have to face cameras on a daily occasion. Self-confidence was a must or she should very well give up on her dreams. 

If she was to get scared at such little encounter, how was she to travel unhindered on the path she chose? If such a minor occasion flustered her, how was she to achieve those great ambitions she had birthed in her heart?

Such minuscule obstacle could not make her waver!
