Chapter 278 – Ji Hou Tao

“No need to be polite, just a bunch of snacks.” Xiong Gang replied.

The other metahumans on the sofas were feeling a range of regrets, they would have acted if they knew how magnanimous Yang Tian could be. Only Jiang Lie, who knew the truth, was silently clutching his fists, not daring to speak up.

He was afraid that Yang Tian would use the fruits to recruit ‘henchmen’ if he spoke out. Although he was confident that he could hold his ground against these people, it would still make him look pitiful and cause him to lose face, Jiang Lie wanted to maintain his best image in front of Ji Tian Luo.

The organizations that came later only had Peak 3s as their strongest, these people also tried to obtain the frontmost seats as the difference between the front and back rows were very distinct.

After ten minutes where every seat was filled, the door leading into the meeting room opened again. This time, it was the organizers of the meeting, the military, who entered.

Leading the group was an elder with white hair and a heavily wrinkled face, but his sharp eyes would cause awe to others, combined with his perfect and pristine uniform; it made him looked domineering as he walked towards the stage. Behind the elder was three soldiers with solemn expressions, it was easy to determine their status from the killing intent they were emitting, these people must have stained their hands with blood since the Civilised Age.

“Three Early Rank 4?”

The men did not hide their energy, allowing Yang Tian and many others to notice their strength.

Especially the Peak Rank 3s in the sofa seats, they felt great pressure coming down on them when they know that three Early Rank 4 powers have appeared.

The three Early Rank 4 were followed by twelve soldiers walking in four rows, they were wearing clean uniforms and marching in synchrony, when combined with their thick aura as a military person, everyone in the room could tell that these men were veteran soldiers.

When the elderly man stood on the stage, the metahumans below the stage all stood up, none of them dared to continue sitting.

“I thank everyone for coming here during these dangerous times, I am the person-in-charge of C City’s military, Ji Hou Tao.”

After introducing himself, Ji Hou Tao gestured for everyone to sit.

Yang Tian had some impression of Ji Hou Tao. A commander of a branch in the military, he strongly supported the research and development of Magic Energy Equipment and announced that it was the key for humanity to return to the Civilised Age. Relying on his mastery of the technology, he managed to gather a large number of powerful metahumans to work for him in the early period of the Post-Apocalyptic Era. Unfortunately, as the otherworld creatures became stronger, the era of Cold Weaponry arrived, causing many to eventually ignore the development of Magic Energy Equipments. 

Only until very late into the Post-Apocalyptic Era, did humanity resume research of Magic Energy Equipment again.

Seeing that Ji Hou Tao had gathered so many organizations as well the recent activity of C City, Yang Tian could easily guess that Ji Hou Tao was pushing for the development of Magic Energy Equipment.

“May I know why Sir call us?” a metahuman asked curiously.

“I gathered all of you this time for the sake of humanity’s development. In this Post-Apocalyptic Era, the military discovered a unique weapon, the technology of these weapons are far beyond the technology that humanity had reached.”

Ji Hou Tao’s words immediately attracted the people’s attention, all of them were curious what sort of weapon is that?

The lowest fighting power within the meeting room was Mid Rank 3, a level where ordinary firearms could no longer threaten them, that was also why these people silently accepted that the Post-Apocalyptic Era was the era of Cold Weaponry. However, Ji Hou Tao was telling them that Hot Weaponry has yet to phase out.

“Some of you have started developing this type of weapon already, and one amongst you have nearly caught up or might even exceed the progress of the military as well.”

Ji Hou Tao’s words startled Yang Tian for a moment; no wonder he was able to get ten Rank 3 Blueprints so easily, C City has already developed Magic Energy Equipment to a high level. Also, the eight cities around Sky Halberd Domain possessed Cannon-Type Magic Energy Equipment, they were not as terrifying as the ones used by C City, but they were certainly not weak, and this information was known by the military as well.

C City’s military has intel on the Magic Energy Equipment currently used by various organizations and Yang Tian’s Sky Halberd Domain was undoubtedly the strongest.

“Oh? Please tell us more, Sir.”

A few Rank 4s could not help but add. They felt an urgency when they heard that there were organizations that have started researching Magic Energy Equipments. 

Ji Hou Tao chuckled as he looked at the gathering:

“Everyone here is private organizations conferred by the military, why not introduce yourself to everyone?”

Yang Tian could sense that Ji Hou Tao’s energy was locked on to him, but Yang Tian had no intention to admit first, he wants to see which organizations were confident enough to stand out.

Rustle

Someone stood up.

“Jiang Lie.”

Jiang Lie’s Blazing Lava City was located within C City. When he heard Ji Hou Tao saying that someone’s research on Magic Energy Equipment was catching up to C City, Jiang Lie immediately assumed it was himself.

Seeing Jiang Lie confidently stood up, Ji Hou Tao smiled without saying anything, but Ji Tian Lou’s gaze was on Yang Tian. She was currently cursing in her mind: You got so many blueprints, why are you not standing up? Did he not know how powerful her grandpa’s organization is?

Yang Tian naturally did not know what Ji Tian Lou was thinking, he only wanted to silently observe how many organizations would admit to.

When Yang Tian felt that it was about time, he also stood up as a gesture before quickly sitting down again.

When Xiong Gang saw Yang Tian standing up, he immediately asked the Yang Tian:

“Brother, what is that special weapon that the Sir mentioned?”

It was apparently that Xiong Gang’s territory had not discovered any Magic Energy Equipment, which was why he did not know anything about them.
