Chapter 228: Pure happiness turning into pure pain.

He Zongying's noise gathered people's curiosity. For the last couple of sentences, she had purposely been loud. Jing Lihua realized by now what Jing Tian had actually wanted. She wanted to create a scene. And the issue of Jing Lihua not having an escort gave her a perfect advantage.

She was going to use He Zongying to throw all sorts of insults in Jing Lihua's direction. Afterward, when everyone would be attracted by the noise of her drama, she would come forward to speak on Jing Lihua's behalf. Insulting her while maintaining her reputation of a nice, kind sister. Jing Lihua's emerald eyes sparkled with a flicker, making them appear magnetic.

While Jing Lihua contemplated in her mind how to deal with the duo of master and dog, a familiar voice sounded at her back.

Jing Lihua back stiffened hearing the familiar tone. Her already cold expressions dropped a few more degrees in temperature.

Zhou Liqin had been standing still at a distance to listen to their conversations for some time. After he heard a few words, he could easily summarize the whole situation. The majority might be fooled by Jing Tian's innocuous looks, but Zhou Liqin was different. He could easily tell that Jing Tian and He Zongying were cooperating in a deceitful manner to corner Jing Lihua.

'This Jing Tian really, I had heard from Ying'er that she was somewhat nasty but did she really have to get to this extent just to get back at her sister, did she?'

Being in entertainment, Zhou Liqin had seen a fair share of obnoxious people. But at this moment, he felt that Jing Lihua's sister surpassed them all.

Wearing his killer smile with his sunglasses on, he moved forward and stood by Jing Lihua's side. "I had been waiting for Miss. Jing all the time outside." His words were acutely weighted before being used. The way of addressing was supposed to reveal that he was only attending to her an escort. Nothing more. There was no relationship between them.

And the fact that the international superstars had been waiting for Jing Lihua outside for so long would automatically slap those faces who looked down upon her for not having an escort.

"Who are you?" He Zongying asked, sounding somewhat rude. Because Zhou Liqin had his huge sunglasses on

However, Jing Tian knew on what level this Zhou Liqin was. How could he have found time to attend such a small engagement party when he would not even show up at the wedding parties of all those business tycoons? She had shrugged off Gu Ting words concluding that he was just saying it to make her happy.

But...now...actually seeing Zhou Liqin at her party?! She could not describe her happiness in her words! His appearance was going to convert her engagement party into a grand event. The media coverage was going to soar! She could flaunt it to her friends for ages. And let's not talk about the positive influence this single occurrence would have on her career.

Barely containing her happiness and grinning from ear to ear, Jing Tian walked up to Zhou Liqin. With her eyes brimming with pure joy, she said timidly. "Mr. Zhou, you have no idea how great of a fan I am of you. I have followed each and every activity since the day you had debuted! In fact, all those years you had been my role model!" Jing Tian used all sorts of flattery to struck an acquaintance with Zhou Liqin. She could not begin to imagine the benefits if she managed to earn the honor of his friendship.

"Yes!" Jing Tian enthusiastically replied. "You have no idea how happy I am that you have attended my engagement party. In fact, when brother Gu told me that brother-in-law has invited you and you might show up, I never believed it."

A small frown formed on Zhou Liqin's forehead. "Miss Jing Tian, you seem to have misunderstood. I did not attend this party at Gu Peizhi's invitation. Instead, I attended as Miss Jing escort."

A silence followed after his words. Jing Tian smiled froze as she felt a cold draft of air swept past her. 

Gradually, Jing Tian felt her pure happiness turning into pure pain.
