Chapter 223: You are far better

Today, Xiao Shen had attended to this event with pure intentions of congratulating Jing Tian. All those years, she had considered Jing Tian her close friend. After Jing Tian's success, Xiao Shen was happy for her with all her heart. She was among the few who were true to Jing Tian.

After her success, Xiao Shen had been unable to keep up with Jing Tian because of their busy schedules. Xiao Shen had long ago sensed that Jing Tian's attitude had turned colder towards everyone.

But that type of attitude was not abnormal, especially in the type of professional they were. Xiao Shen was fine with this. She still considered Jing Tian her friend.

So what if Jing Tian was a bit cold towards her? She still used to treat her fairly well before everything.

With that thought and a warm smile, Xiao Shen had approached Jing Tian.

But what she hadn't expected was her good and pure sentiments to be ruthlessly crushed by Jing Tian's words. It would have been fine if Jing Tian had been cold towards her. But Jing Tian actually insulted her? She pretended to not even know her?

Xiao Shen could never forget this, let alone forgive this.

One thing was clear; all that time Jing Tian had been good to her, it was all fake! It had only been Xiao Shen who had been a fool!

Thus it was only natural that among everyone, her voice was the first to antagonize her.

The one thing Xiao Shen's words were capable of doing was to have everyone comparing both Jing Lihua and Jing Tian's overall appearance. And they were surprised to find that, indeed, Jing Lihua's appearance was far better than Jing Tian.

More than everything, her dress, her accessories perfectly suited her decent image.

While, on the other hand, Jing Tian's dress looked as if it was not well planned. It seemed to be wanting to convey conflicting vibes. Like, she had wanted to look pure with wearing white. But, at the same time, she did not want to look dull and boring. Thus the overall design was a bit flashy. However, unfortunately, these two things didn't sit well with each other.

The amalgam of two different contrasting ideas resulted in the dress being very irritable to the eye,

It would still have been fine if someone else wore it and was able to balance those two vibes in the dress. However, Jing Tian was not able to pull out the effect. Thus one thing was certain, the dress was definitely not fit for Jing Tian.

He Zhouyan observed how everyone had disapproving expressions as they appraised Jing Tian's dress. She panicked. Glowering at Xiao Shen, she seethed. "What would you know? The dress had been specially prepared by a reputa

ble company." He Zhouyan recognized that Xiao Shen. In her heart, disgust emerged towards her. Her daughter was an A-lister, who was this nobody to judge her? "Those in higher circles definitely have different tastes. Those at your level won't understand!" He Zhouyan didn't mind any etiquettes and criticized openly.

Xiao Shen merely smiled in response. Before everything, He Zhouyan used to be very good to her. However, just as circumstances changes, she changed her color too. Truly! Like daughter, like mother.

Nevertheless, she had said what needed to be said. Now everything would happen on its own.

And her prediction was right.

Not soon afterward, a reputable fashion designer jumped in the conversation. "Xiao Shen has a point. I always observe your attire and your clothing sense is commendable. Turns out, your judgemental sense is even more profound." After that, she presented her assessment. "Other people might not have been able to see it, but I had observed this point since the moment Jing Lihua had stepped inside Her dressing is truly praiseworthy!" Those were the words coming from the mouth of a certified, well established reputable professional. Thus, those words could not easily be contested. "As for Jing Tian, the garment sure is expensive but..." She let the words left unsaid. 

Everyone knew what she meant by her silence. 

He Zhouyan was mortified. On the other hand, Lang Lan could not endure Jing Lihua being praised. But there was nothing they could do about this situation. 

At a distance, Jing Tian was standing with her fiance as the guest came to greet her and offer their congratulations. A few seconds ago, she looked very appeased with Jing Lihua being criticized by her mother and Lang Lan. But within a matter of minutes, the situation was reversed.

Now the one thing being criticized was her dressing taste.

How did this happen?

"Brother Gu..." In a meek, pitiable tone, she called out to him. "I- Do I really look that bad?" Tears glistened in her eyes making her appear fragile and pitiful.

Gu Ting could not bear to see the pain in his sweetheart's eyes. "Why would you say that?"

"B-But the people—"

"Nonsense! All rubbish!" Gu Ting was agitated. "They are just jealous of you. Can't you see that?!" His tone was fairly harsh, making Jing Tian tremble.

Realizing his mistake, his heart clenched. He immediately relaxed his expressions. In a very soft tone, he pacified Jing Tian. "Trust me, you are the most beautiful person in the party. In fact, you are the most beautiful person on the whole Earth!"

Hearing this, Jing Tian'

s eyes appeared to twinkle in sadness. "Brother Gu, it's not that I don't trust you. It's just that, look at JieJie. People are always praising her while I...I feel like I can't compare to her."

"Tian'er I have already told you that people are jealous of you!" Gu Ting emphasized. He sympathized with Jing Tian, sympathized for having such a venomous woman as a sister. First of all, it was a mere dislike. But now, Gu Ting despised that woman!

He knew how women are. They won't rest easy unless they trample their rivals under their feet and have them shed tears of blood. Turned out Jing Lihua was that sort. He was certain that she had purposely dressed in a similar fashion to his Tian'er.
