Chapter 188: Tricked helplessly

Jing Lihua was watching the news over the television. Fussy was dozing off on the mat before the sofa. 

"I can't say I hadn't anticipated this development." She said after surfing through several channels. After all the dramatic events that unfolded, the media had a catchy topic to exaggerate and make a fuss about.

No matter which channel she shifted to, the topic of the day was still revolving around Su Lanfen and Su Donghai.

Concerning Jing Lihua's matter of divorcing Si Liwei, the masses supported her. If there was any negative public sentiment regarding her decision, it had now dissolved into approval and encouragement. 

Appraising Su Donghai's decision of disowning Su Lanfen, Jing Lihua had somewhat anticipated the outcome because she was aware that this Su Donghai was a megalomaniac.

If something ever came to threaten his power, he could discard it without any hesitation.

"However, abandoning one's blood daughter was still something too extreme..." Jing Lihua wondered if she was in such a situation and if her parents were alive, would they have done the same and abandoned her?

Is this how much relationships are worth?

She felt saddened for a second until a voice came out from the kitchen.

"That was the best thing to happen even for Su Lanfen." 

Jing Lihua's lips curled up into a smile. Because she was sure that if Li Zhiqiang was in such a situation and had to choose between power and her, he would choose her. Six years of waiting was enough to test his sincerity.

Thinking that someone so pure and precious was always standing by her side, Jing Lihua's mood lifted immediately. 

"How so?" She asked.

During the past days, Li Zhiqiang had taken the charge of cooking for Jing Lihua. Other than the time they had to spend in their respective offices, he would spend the remaining time with Jing Lihua back in her apartment. 

"If Su Donghai hadn't disowned her, she would have continued causing problems for my fiance. If so, I would have no choice but to end her once and for all. So, as you see. This outcome was the best in her regards."

Jing Lihua laughed. "President Li, aren't you getting too out of control? We once had a deal you won't interfere in my business... Have you forgotten the words you gave me?"

"I won't interfere with your business but you can't stop me from protecting my fiance." He retaliated smoothly.

Obviously, it was a man's job to protect his fiance.

During the past days, after Jing Lihua's divorce papers with Su Liwei were finalized, Li Zhiqiang had been particularly very cheerful. He would leave no chance to remind her that now she was his fiance and she belonged to him. 

"Are you done?" Jing

Lihua asked choosing to ignore the childish banter that Li Zhiqiang appeared to be eager to initiate.

"I have made all your favorite dishes." He said, appearing satisfied at his own work.

Hearing this, Jing Lihua's eyes immediately lit up. "Really?" Getting up, she hugged Li Zhiqiang and kissed him on the lips. Paying her thanks, she waited no more and rushed to the dining room and started the sumptuous meal.

Nothing beats a good, natural meal by the best Chef Li Zhiqiang after a tiresome day in the office!

Li Zhiqiang was still frozen from the sudden kiss and Jing Lihua had already started the dinner. Filling her mouth to the brim, she chewed the juicy and tender steak. The movements of her cheeks resembled somewhat a cute squirrel. Only after swallowing down a few mouthfuls and satisfying her hunger, did she notice the absence of a particular man.

"Why don't you join?"

Li Zhiqiang lips twitched. "Why do you even ask? Just continue eating." He sounded somewhat offended.

Jing Lihua blinked. "Huh? What happened? You can't blame me! It's not my fault that whatever you make is so delicious. In any case, I should be the one blaming you for making me so greedy! Do you even know? I can no longer eat ordinary food and what more? I am even gaining weight because of you!" Jing Lihua argued while angrily taking another big bite.

Li Zhiqiang: "..."

Suddenly being the one who is wrong, he didn't know what to say. His Jingjing could be impossible at times. 

But what mattered? He loved all sides of his Jingjing.

After a slight chuckle, he grabbed her squishy cheeks.

Jing Lihua frowned in confusion. "Letf Gfo!"

Li Zhiqiang whispered seductively. "Do you think a simple peck can make up for all the efforts I had put to make this for you?" Is she thought she could get away with a simple peck, she was seriously wrong? He wanted much more. Much, much more. Now that she was totally his...

"You..!" Jing Lihua pushed him away. "Let me eat in peace."

"You need to first pay the charges to get the privilege to eat my cooking." Li Zhiqiang said with a smirk.

"What charges?" Jing Lihua had a bad feeling about this. 

At this, Li Zhiqiang didn't reply. Taking the seat opposite to her, he motioned her. "Come here."

She was right! That shameless man wanted to take advantage of her! But as if, she would let him!

"And what if I decline?" She glared back.

"Then..." Li Zhiqiang leisurely rested his elbow over the table and smiled at the glaring woman. "You will no longer have the privilege to enjoy my cooking."

Jing Lihua's eyes widened in incredulity!

"President Li, just how low can you fall?" He was horrible to blackmail her over something so precious!

"Everything comes with a price sweetheart." Li Zhiqiang's charming smile became more pronounced.

Jing Lihua continued to give him a death stare. "I now see why have you been so eager to cook for me recently. It was your motive since the beginning, wasn't it? To make me addicted to your divine dishes and when I am finally deep into your next, blackmail me into doing what you wish."

To her grief, Li Zhiqiang didn't even deny.
