Chapter 118 - What did she do?

He laughed evilly and glanced at the entrance to the lobby. He waited, Jing Lihua waited. Wang Yi waited. Everyone else waited.

No one came.

"So disappointing." Jing Lihua sighed and continued to walk out.

"Wait! They are supposed to be here. Just wait for a little longer." Xie Qiang was anxious.

"Sorry, Mr. Xie I'm a very busy person. I have a huge corporation to look over. If your paps can't be punctual, you better fire them." And so she vanished from the company leaving everyone baffled.

When Jing Lihua walked out, she was suddenly surrounded by a hoard of suited huge men. "President Jing, we are here on behalf of President Li to pick you up."

"Okay." Jing Lihua felt a little at ease to know that. Ever since he hadn't returned her call she had been worried. "Is everything alright? Is he okay?"

The bodyguards looked at each other then looked back at Jing Lihua. "We are here to take you to President Li."

Of course, they couldn't reveal. It looked like something was not right. Jing Lihua randomly looked around and she froze. "Um... What is this heap of bodies right there?" She was suddenly reminded of Xie Qiang. "Wait, did you guys do that?" Jing Lihua looked incredulous.

"These reporters were paid to slander President Jing so we got rid of them on your behalf." One of them answered in a monotonous tune.

"Cough... Cough... You didn't have to be..." She looked at the heap of dazed paparazzi. Even though they could be nasty sometimes, they were still humans. Jing Lihua had strange expressions. She felt something akin to pity for her enemies. A phenomenon that hadn't ever occurred before. "...so aggressive."

"Don't worry President Jing. We merely used an anesthetic gas. They would wake up on their own accord in a couple of hours. We shall hurry to President Li. He is waiting."

"Alright." Jing Lihua hopped into the car while Wang Yi drove. During the ride, she gave Mi Xiu a call informing her the problem at the Qin Jua company had been resolved. Jing Lihua sent her a list of names to fire and even sent her a list of replacement staff. With the transaction from Li Zhiqiang, she had enough credits to easily buy the remaining shares from Qian He.

"And one more thing." She told Mei Xiu. "After everything is resolved, make sure to hand over Qian He case files to a government official. It is better to eradicate him once and for all instead of regretting later. After being humiliated and forced to sell his shares, he would come for me sooner or later holding vengeance."

"Yes, President!" Mei Xiu sounded more and more excited.

Jing Lihua hung up and looked around. "A restaurant?" She walked out followed by Wang Yi and half a dozen black-suited bodyguards. Jing Lihua leaned in closer to Wang Yi. "These men are not really under Li Zhiqiang, are they?" Jing Lihua quietly asked. The hotel manager guided her to a VVIP room. She felt a little uneasy at the development.

"No President Jing." Wang Yi said confirming her doubts.

"Then do you know who are they under?"

"We are here. I should better wait outside." Wang Yi bowed deeply and smoothly avoided her questions.

Hah! Smartass! Jing Lihua noted in her mind to be hard on him in the future. She took a deep breath and walked into the room. Inside the room, there were three people. Li Zhiqiang, Li Xun and another one whom Jing Lihua couldn't exactly recognize.

Both Li Zhiqiang and Li Xun were keeping their heads ducked low in front of that whomever scary presence who could make the great 'Devil' bow his head. The atmosphere looked very severe. She walked in nervously. The woman's face was not exactly visible. Jing Lihua announced herself and walked in. Once the woman's entire face became visible to Jing Lihua, she froze. An influx of memories entered her brain.

"Madame Bao?"

Her presence triggered many memories.

"Can someone tell what is happening there?" Jing Lihua was utterly confused. "Madama Bao, how are you here?" Jing Lihua couldn't make up the scene. She was supposed to be in Hong Kong. And why did Li Zhiqiang and Li Xun were dropping their heads like they had been traumatized? They didn't even move their heads to look when she had entered.

Was something bad? Did Madam Bao hate her now and wanted her sons away from her? Jing Lihua's heart was filled with anxiety. Li Zhiqiang admired his mother. He wouldn't ever defy her. So if she was against them, that she would have high chances to be considering that Jing Lihua was still married, there was no hope for their future.

Perhaps it was the end.

When Jing Lihua was at the deepest abyss of hopelessness, Madame Bao looked up and showed her the warmest smile in the world. The affection in her smile made Jing Lihua almost stagger back in shock. "Xiao Jing!" In her sweetest voice, she called out her name and got up quickly. She walked to Jing Lihua in hurry and grasped her hands in the warmth of her hands as if she had been waiting for her, her whole life. "Oh! Look at you. You have grown so much. You have no idea how much this old lady missed you!" She looked like she was about to cry

Old Lady.

To address oneself as an old lady for a woman who looked no more than thirty was so-so; Jing Lihua no words other than: "..."

"Um... Madame Bao, how all of sudden y-you..." She didn't even know what to ask.

"Oh! Hush it, child. Just give me a hug. We have a lifetime to chat." And Madame Bao pulled her into a bear hug.

Jing Lihua: "..."

Why was being showered with so much love? What did she do to deserve this?

Jing Lihua wanted answers and in desperation, she looked in Li Zhiqiang's direction in pursuit of some guidance but she was shocked to see Li Zhiqiang's expressions. It was not only Li Zhiqiang but Li Xun was equally scary.

Jing Lihua could see their resentment practically floating on the top of their heads.

What?! What did she do?!

Why do they make her feel like they had to suffer the punishment for something wrong she did?!

She is innocent, alright!
