Chapter 106 Absent-minded

Gu Yan didn’t understand why that kind of thing happened to her yesterday. When she went downstairs, she almost fell over for thinking about that. Fortunately, Manla held her in time.

“What are you thinking about?” Manla complained.

“Nothing. It’s just I didn’t sleep well last night.” Gu Yan sat down and rubbed her temples.

Manla prepared breakfast in the kitchen. After a while, she brought the hot millet porridge, a few steamed buns and a bottle of juice.

“Come, eat! I know you were thinking what happened yesterday and didn’t sleep well last night. Go ahead and eat something.” Manla took a sip of the juice and said, “It’s so cool!”

“Yeah. I didn’t sleep well. I just can’t figure out why Wen Yunfeng did this.”

“I’ll send someone to investigate secretly. Don’t worry. No matter what Wen Yunfeng wants to do, I won’t let him off if you get hurt.”

Then Manla ate a steamed bun and took a sip of millet porridge.

“I know. I just think the masked person who kidnapped me yesterday is quite familiar, but I can’t recognize who he is.” Gu Yan said.

“Alas! Don’t think so much! You should eat and drink so that you could have the strength to fight with Wen Yunfeng. Otherwise, we will fall into his trap. You need to go to work after breakfast. Your employees are waiting for their boss.” Manla wanted to shift Gu Yan’s attention.

“Manla, love you! I am leaving now!” Gu Yan hugged Manla, kissed her face quickly and then went out confidently. Manla stared at her back with an incomprehensible expression.

“Gu Yan is crazy!” Manla murmured.

Walking on the way to the studio, Gu Yan looked around from time to time for fear that she would meet Wen Yunfeng. After all, he must have something to do with what happened yesterday. Gu Yan was alert and worried, which had become a habit.

“Good morning! Gu Yan, didn’t you sleep well last night?” Gu Yan was accustomed to the greetings of Yuan Xi who usually went to the studio very early.

“Perhaps. I was a little sleepless last night. Guess I get too much pressure from work recently.” Gu Yan showed a very tired expression.

“Gu Yan, did Chen Qian make trouble again recently?” Yuan Xi didn’t buy her words because they only received one order and Gu Yan was not very busy recently. Yuan Xi thought it must be Chen Qian who made trouble again that annoyed Gu Yan.

“You did a good job.” Chen Qian said on the phone as she was doing cosmetic makeover.

“Thanks for your affirmation. You are so smart to put forward such a perfect plan. I underestimated you before.” Wen Yunfeng put his feet on the desk complacently. It seemed that he didn’t get the lesson from the last incident which was created by Mo Yichen.

“We can help each other later, can’t we? If you massage well, I will give you a reward.” Chen Qian was satisfied with the result last night, so she wanted to reward the massager.

“But I am worried that Gu Yan will figure out what happened yesterday. After all, she is quite smart, so…” Wen Yunfeng still worried that Gu Yan would be suspicious, because he knew her well.

“Don’t you believe me? No one knows that Gu Yan was fainted because of your subordinates. Not even herself. Besides, it was you who asked them to do that.” Chen Qian worried that Mo Yichen would know their plan, so she shifted all the responsibilities to Wen Yunfeng.

If it were in the past, Wen Yunfeng would threaten Mo Yichen with Gu Yan’s pictures he took. However, since now he wanted Gu Yan back, he had to pretend the good one who saved her.

“Well! Call me if necessary! I’m not in the mood now. Don’t contact me in other cases.” Chen Qian hung up the phone.

“Chen Qian, you are such a bitch! I would never follow your orders. I’m doing this just to get Gu Yan back. Am I crazy? Ho-ho.” Wen Yunfeng asked someone to rearrange his schedule in the afternoon.

“Cancel my schedule in the afternoon. I’ve got things to do!” Wen Yunfeng was about to leave but was interrupted by his assistant.

“President, we have to negotiate with Nanfeng Company in the afternoon. This is the only company who wants to cooperate with us.” The assistant said. He was kind of begging Wen Yunfeng to participate in this negotiation.

“Don’t you hear what I said just now?” Wen Yunfeng walked out of the office impatiently, leaving the assistant with a helpless expression alone.
