Chapter 39: An Unexpected Surprise

After Baiyi had managed to coax her, he watched her hold the cat paw pastry as she ate it like a small, cute squirrel. After eating just two pieces, she packed the box up nicely, with the intention of taking it to class tomorrow to share with her classmates.

As she bid goodnight to Baiyi, Mia took off her school uniform and changed into a common white nightgown before she wrapped herself up in the blanket. Hugging her hammerhead doll tightly, she fell into a deep and peaceful slumber.

But since they could afford forging a full armor using pure black gold, there was no reason for them to not be able to afford drawing runes with the blood of a white dragon, right? After all, the world of a rich person was totally different from the poor.

“Although it’s really wasteful but it is not as terrible as we thought I guess? I remember that before I entered the Void, there was a wave of exploration and development in small realms. Now that quite a dozen of years have passed, they probably reaped some gains that we don’t know of,” The Apprentice reminded suddenly. After all, that was news that most Voidwalkers were unaware of.

However, it was definitely not a pleasant experience to explore a new realm. It was entirely possible that new realms that was discovered after a laborious amount of efforts would turn out to be nothing but a wasteland; or perhaps it had an extreme weather that was not suitable for human survival and also some other unexpected danger that was waiting ahead. Although the situation was like that and the risk were high, it still did not stop human’s enthusiasm in pursuing profits. Seeing how such a precious material was used to this extent, there should be quite a lot of things that had been discovered by the human beings in those past few decades.

Anyway, things like exploring a new realm had nothing to do with Baiyi at all. He continued to look through Undine’s belongings. Other than those items that were listed before, the rest of them were all sorts of different Magical Scrolls, such as Protection Spell, Teleportation Spell, Blessing Spell and even cures for all sorts of curses, basically every magical item that one could think of. It was as if the bag was a walking church.

Now that Baiyi thought about it, it seemed that Undine really did not have any malicious intention towards him at all. Otherwise, had she used all of those things in the pouch, there was no way Baiyi could wriggle his way out from the battle.

I’m sure that she would give you a generous reward.”
