Chapter 36 - Today, the Weather Was Sweet

It gradually became late. Looking at the time, Ji Liao decided he should go. He Cheng Ming was sad to see him leave and looked at him pitifully.

Even if an overly cold person turned up the heater, his heart would still remain cold.

It hadn’t been easy for this boy to come here, and he really didn’t want to let him go.

He thought this way, but still got up and said, “Then I’ll see you off.”

He didn’t want to force Ji Liao.

Ji Liao hummed and followed him to the door to change his footwear.

Right then, Xu Ai Wen called. He accepted the call guiltily but heard her inform him that the company was rushing for a project’s deadline and she might have to work all night. She didn’t want him to wait for her return and reminded him that he should go to bed early.

His hand hesitated on the doorknob and Ji Liao responded with an “okay” before hanging up the phone. His heart raced and he turned towards He Cheng Ming, saying, “I’m not going back.”

It was such a surprise.

He was so happy that he couldn’t restrain himself from jumping onto the other boy. He Cheng Ming held him, his eyes bright with unspeakable excitement.

“Why did you change your mind?” He asked in a hoarse voice.

Ji Liao had been a little shy, but after having a moment of clarity, he circled the other boy’s neck and said cunningly, “My Mom is working overtime tonight and won’t be returning home.”

Seeing the adorable look of contentment on his face, He Cheng Ming’s heart melted.

He leaned forward and kissed him on the chin, then carried him to the living room and placed him on the sofa. They looked at each other. Suddenly, there was an extra night’s worth of time, but they didn’t know what to do.

“Want to watch a movie?” He Cheng Ming suggested.

Ji Liao’s heart thumped and he stuttered, “What, what movie?”

When He Cheng Ming saw his face turn red, he knew that his mind was in the gutter. He laughed and replied with a question, “What movie did you think of?”

With that, he pinched Ji Liao’s face. “Little pervert.”

Ji Liao pushed him away awkwardly and hurried him to start it.

He Cheng Ming plugged in the USB flash drive and selected a foreign romance movie. The two of them nestled together on the sofa to watch it.

He suddenly felt a hand at his waist as the person beside him hugged him. He Cheng Ming propped his chin on Ji Liao’s shoulder, breathing lightly into his neck.

It seemed like he was trying to tease him. Ji Liao gloomily shrunk away, wanting to avoid it, and the movement caused He Cheng Ming to frown. “Don’t move and watch properly. Be good.”

With that, he touched his head.

Ji Liao felt wronged and became sullen. His eyes were focused on the video but he was complaining internally. What a playboy, not putting the fire out even after teasing him!

It wasn’t easy but he managed to settle down. After a while, the boy beside him was restless again. This time, he undid Ji Liao’s shirt and put his hand in. Just when he touched skin, Ji Liao abruptly turned and pressed him onto the sofa.

If the tiger didn’t show his power, you would have thought that I was just a cat.

He Cheng Ming’s “offending” hand was constrained to one side. His pyjama top was half-open, exposing most of his chest. His face didn’t show a trace of embarrassment at having been caught in the act. Instead, he was laughing while looking very handsome and warm.

Ji Liao felt a bit shameful as well as annoyed. He covered He Cheng Ming’s mouth with his hand but he laughed even louder in a thick nasal voice, which was both lively and charming.

“He Cheng Ming!” Ji Liao shouted his name out loud, unable to achieve any gains.

“Okay okay, I’m sorry. I was wrong.” He held up both hands as a sign of surrender.

Ji Liao gave a “humph” and got up. Regaining his freedom, He Cheng Ming stopped the movie and picked him up, carrying him towards the room. While walking, he said, “Let’s go to the bed and play.”

Ji Liao’s ears burned with fire and his heart pounded. However, his mind was unexpectedly clear, knowing that the other boy would not hurt him.

After being thrown onto the bed, Ji Liao rolled around once and He Cheng Ming pounced. He grabbed his ankle with one hand and pulled it hard until Ji Liao was under him. He stared fixedly at him and felt his heart swell. He couldn’t help but be emotional since the person he thought of day and night was now in front of him, on his bed.

“What are you looking at?” Ji Liao complained. Then, plucking up his courage, he leaned up and kissed the boy’s mouth. This was to blame him for dressing so sensually today. He couldn’t control himself at all.

He Cheng Ming swallowed and painfully pulled back from the person in front of him, saying regretfully, “Next time baby. I don’t want to infect you with my cold.”

Although Ji Liao’s desire was unsatisfied, his emotions were soothed when he saw that the other boy was not doing any better, enduring until his veins were prominent.

“Where should I sleep tonight?” He asked.

He Cheng Ming hugged him and snuggled into the quilt. “Here of course.”

All night long, it was peaceful.

The next day, when Ji Liao woke up, there was no one in bed beside him.

He rubbed his bleary eyes and went out to discover He Cheng Ming cooking porridge in the kitchen.

In the early morning sunlight, he was dazzling, tall and handsome. Looking back and seeing him, He Cheng Ming smiled. “Awake?”

And his voice was nice.

Ji Liao’s heart was in a mess again and came to like the boy even more.

“Yeah.” He walked over and glanced at the pot of porridge. It looked quite decent.

He Cheng Ming told him to brush his teeth, and afterwards, they had breakfast together.

Ji Liao was embarrassed. Obviously the other boy was the sick one, but he was the one being looked after.

After breakfast, He Cheng Ming changed his attire. Since he was especially afraid of the cold he had on two pairs of pants, a shirt, a sweater, and a down jacket. Regardless of how good his build was, it couldn’t withstand such an outfit, and he was reduced to an ordinary person.

Ji Liao couldn’t help but laugh at him. But after being spanked, his laughter stopped.

He Cheng Ming led him out the door. It was Christmas today and the streets were full of green Christmas trees decorated with white snow and ball ornaments, creating a beautiful ambience.

Ji Liao reminded him to take his medicine and took out the thermos cup, handing it over to him.

He Cheng Ming took it obediently.

He never paid much attention to a small illness like the cold, but he liked that Ji Liao cared about him.

“Where are we going?” Ji Liao asked.

“Let’s just walk around,” He Cheng Ming said.

The two of them held hands, strolling on the wintry street. One tall and one short, one round and one thin. The shorter one spoke from time to time as white breath came out from his mouth.

When the person beside him said something, he suddenly bent over laughing. The eyes of the taller one followed him attentively and affectionately, also filled with laughter.

A young child carrying a basket of flowers came running over and pulled at He Cheng Ming’s pant leg, saying in a frail voice, “Ge Ge, buy two flowers.”

He Cheng Ming was in a good mood. He squatted down and glanced at the flower basket, asking, “How much for everything?”

The child said, “I’ll charge you 500 yuan.”

He Cheng Ming took out the money, then gave her the basket of flowers. He flashed a dashing smile. “For you.”

The child stood on tiptoe and kissed him. “Ge Ge, you’re so handsome.”

Then she dashed away.

Ji Liao: “…”

Was he hitting on girls in front of him?

He Cheng Ming straightened his back, then noticed Ji Liao’s unhappiness. His lips curved and he kissed his face, coaxing in a low voice, “I only like you. Don’t be jealous.”

Ji Liao glared at him. Who was jealous?!

He Cheng Ming burst into laughter. His mood soared and he felt that today’s weather was indeed sweet.
