Chapter 17 - Baby, Your Palm Is So Wet

Meng Yao Yao was stunned for some time before she realised that the person he had said he liked, was Ji Liao.

At first, she was shocked since it never occurred to her that He Cheng Ming was gay! She felt a sense of loss, after all, it was her first time confessing and she had been rejected! Finally, she felt relieved. It wasn’t because she wasn’t good enough — it was because he liked boys!

Meng Yao Yao took a deep breath, gave a relaxed smile and said, “Okay, then I wish the two of you well.”

He Cheng Ming’s attitude was unfriendly as he acknowledged her coldly with a hum. Thinking of the way Ji Liao had looked at Meng Yao Yao earlier, he understood it too well as a guy himself, and he felt extremely agitated.

Beside him, Ji Liao stood like a wooden block with He Cheng Ming’s palm still covering his eyes. His mind hadn’t sprung into action yet as the sound of his heart was pounding in his ears.

“I’ll be going first.” The girl preserved her gentleness and turned to leave the scene. Right then, Ji Liao pulled He Cheng Ming’s hand off and looked at Meng Yao Yao, who was already a few steps away. She glanced back and winked as she said, “Don’t worry. I’ll keep your secret.”

Ji Liao let his worries go, and his good feelings towards Meng Yao Yao increased. She was beautiful and gentle — even after being rejected, she was still very considerate. Such a girl…if only she had liked him.

“Don’t even think about it.” He Cheng Ming suddenly said.

Ji Liao was caught by surprise and turned to look at him. His face appeared embarrassed as if he was caught cheating, and he stammered, “What, what don’t think about it?” Did this person have mind-reading abilities?

He Cheng Ming snorted coldly, and with a dark expression, he tried to get him moving, “Are you not going? Didn’t you want to go?” He thought to himself, Want to like somebody else? Ha, don’t even think about it!

Ji Liao let out an “oh,” then started walking with his head down.

He Cheng Ming strode beside Ji Liao as the two walked under the residual lights. The street was very quiet at night, and the dim yellow light of the street lamps stretched their shadows. Ji Liao’s eyelids suddenly jumped when he felt the person beside him hold his hand.

Their palms touched each other as if magnetized.

The two of them looked calm on the surface but their hearts were pounding like drums, restless and uneasy. One of them was afraid that the other would fling his hand off and walk away, while the other was thinking, What the heck was going on, was he making a move tonight?!

After waiting for a while and seeing that Ji Liao had no reaction, He Cheng Ming couldn’t help smiling and was elated.

On the other hand, Ji Liao had a lot of thoughts and felt very apprehensive. Were they progressing too quickly? They had kissed and held hands, then was the next step to be eaten up cleanly by him?

That wasn’t right. Why was it him that had to be eaten up?!

What’s more, how did two guys eat each other up?!

Thinking of this, he realised that his face was so hot that an egg could be fried on it! Fortunately, it was dark and no one could see it.

At night, the wind was a little chilly, and He Cheng Ming asked thoughtfully, “Are you cold?”

Actually, Ji Liao felt like he was dying from the heat! He shook his head.

He Cheng Ming seemed to notice something as he suddenly chuckled and bent down to Ji Liao’s ear, “Baby, your palm is so wet.”

Ji Liao was provoked by this statement and feeling ashamed, he immediately pulled his hand back. But He Cheng Ming wasn’t willing to let go and held on tightly, shoving it into his own coat pocket.

“Okay, stop. I won’t say anymore.” His face had a smile that couldn’t be concealed. His normally furrowed eyebrows and ice-cold eyes softened. His head drooped towards Ji Liao, asking for mercy.

Ji Liao kept a straight face and remained silent.

To be honest, the tall and handsome He Cheng Ming being adorable was quite…well, quite able to move his heart easily.
