Chapter 14 - Five, Let Six Give You a Princess Carry

The two of them took a taxi and as He Cheng Ming was familiar with the area, he very quickly guided the driver there.

They pushed open the room door, and the sounds of deafening music and flashing lights dazzled Ji Liao.

He followed He Cheng Ming inside, and Lin Jiang greeted them impatiently once they stepped in. “Ji Liao, Ming Ge, over here!”

As soon as he stopped speaking, everyone looked towards them. Even the singers stopped, leaving the sounds of musical accompaniment to continue alone. Ji Liao lowered his head subconsciously.

He wasn’t used to receiving attention.

But it didn’t matter to He Cheng Ming. With a big shot attitude, he strode over and sat in the centre.

When Ji Liao neared, he realised that Gu Ming Ren was also there. His long legs were crossed and he was smoking while leaning brazenly against the sofa. His actions were practiced and he looked like an old-timer.

Ji Liao was surprised. He didn’t expect Gu Ming Ren, who looked like someone with reserved manner, to actually be sociable! As expected, a person couldn’t be judged by their appearance.

After his silent ridicule, he found a place at the side to sit down. Only then did he start to observe everyone who was present. Including himself, there were ten other ⁠— six guys and four girls.

Among the girls, he recognised the school flower, Meng Yao Yao; the other three were probably Meng Yao Yao’s friends. The lights in the room were too dim and he couldn’t see clearly until one of them came towards him. It was Xu Xiao Jing from his class!

Ji Liao started to get nervous. He had arrived together with He Cheng Ming, would Xu Xiao Jing sense something?

While he was thinking about this, she had already reached him. “I thought that He Cheng Ming would bring his girlfriend today, so I didn’t expect him to bring you, Ji Liao!” Xu Xiao Jing looked excited and sat beside him.

Ji Liao gave her a guilty smile and his expression was slightly unnatural.

Xu Xiao Jing was carefree and didn’t notice the change in Ji Liao. Instead, she said to him, “I think the incident from last time was incorrect . He Cheng Ming is with you guys all day long. How could he have a girlfriend?”

Upon hearing this, Ji Liao nodded earnestly and went along with it. “Yes, he doesn’t.”

Xu Xiao Jing laughed contently, then prodded his arm and lowered her voice. “Then can you help us later? Yao Yao has liked He Cheng Ming for so long. We want to help bring them together.”

Xu Xiao Jing spoke openly, firmly believing that Ji Liao would help her.

Ji Liao hesitated a little, and unconsciously glanced at He Cheng Ming. He was talking to Lin Jiang about something and not paying attention to anything on this side at all.

“Since you didn’t say anything, I’ll take it that you agreed!” Xu Xiao Jing was quick to speak and gave a bright smile. She thanked him, then made an OK gesture at Meng Yao Yao.

Since he had been unsure, he had missed the opportunity to refuse. In a complicated mood, Ji Liao sank silently into the sofa. It was clear to him that he didn’t want to bring Meng Yao Yao and He Cheng Ming together.

Halfway through singing, Lin Jiang got up and presided over the situation by indicating that it was too boring, and they should instead play a game together.

It was very simple: there were ten playing cards numbered one to nine, plus a king. The person who drew the king would randomly pick any of the other nine numbers to do anything.

Lin Jiang started to deal the cards while Ji Liao was still muddled. He looked at the card that was dealt to him ⁠— Five.

The first one who got the king was a guy. He looked around and picked Three. The task was ⁠— give Seven a kiss.

As soon as this remark was made, the room immediately livened up. But it was a pity that Three and Seven were both girls and the two of them quickly completed the task.

The game went on to the next round.

Ji Liao had a bad premonition. As expected, he heard his own number: Five.

The person who got the king said, “Five, let Six give you a princess carry!”

Ji Liao’s heart was pounding when he heard the task. Even the tips of his ears were red.

He Cheng Ming looked at him with certainty and threw out the Six that was in his hand.

Seeing something wrong with Ji Liao’s expression, Xu Xiao Jing guessed immediately that he could be Five. She secretly switched cards with him behind her back and quickly passed that card to Meng Yao Yao.

When the group pressed for the person who was Five, Meng Yao Yao took the card out with a reddened face. The guys cheered for a good show, but Lin Jiang paled. How could it be! He had clearly given the Five to Ji Liao!

But the truth was in front of him and he had to admit it!

He was done for…

Secretly, he glanced at He Cheng Ming. As expected, he was cold and expressionless.
