Chapter 433 - "I will be here with you no matter what." (2)

Shu Yan met her legendary father-in-law completely unprepared.

“You are Feng Zeyu’s father? How unfortunate. He just traveled out of town today. You might have to wait a few days before you can meet up with him.”

Shu Yan looked Feng Jianghua up and down. He did not look like Feng Zeyu at all. Perhaps Feng Zeyu looked more like his mother.

It was also Feng Jianghua’s first time meeting Shu Yan. He had learned that Feng Zeyu was dating a divorce woman with two children. But the two of them were not close and it was not his place to opine on it.

As such, he had always pretended that he didn’t know about it. When he met her today, he noticed that she was very pretty and didn’t look like she was a mother of two. He also heard that she was a very capable woman, had her own company and was very wealthy.

“I’ll come by again in a few days then.” Feng Jianghua let out a sigh of relief when he found that Feng Zeyu was not available. Truth be told, he really rather not have to face Feng Zeyu.

Three days later, Feng Zeyu returned from his trip and brought Shu Yan and her children a lot of local souvenirs. Shu Yan put the stuff away as she said to him, “Your dad came looking for you a few days ago. I told him that you went on a business trip. He didn’t say why he was looking for you but that he will be back. Do you think he wants money from you because he learned that you have your own company and are rich now?”

Feng Zeyu shook his head. “No.”

Feng Jianghua had always been indifferent to him. The real indifferent, as though he did not exist. Wang Ziju would not have been so mean to him otherwise. In the end of the day, the problem lay with Feng Jianghua.

Feng Jianghua never planned on raising Feng Zeyu nor had he expected Feng Zeyu to support him in his old age. As such, Feng Jianghua would not be after his money.

“Then…… the house?” That would make the most sense.

“The house is worth a lot. Of course they won’t give up just like that. It was left for me by my grandpa and I will never give it to them,” said Feng Zeyu coldly.

Shu Yan frowned a little. “I think you should find the time to clarify things with them. That way they would stop thinking about it.”

“Clarify things? Wang Ziju wants this house and I will not hand it over. Things can never be clarified.”

“I mean, should we just pay money to make the issue go away?” It wasn’t like they needed that money. They just as well just spent the money, had them sign an agreement to sever their ties once and for all. They would be paying for their quietness.

“This is not about money.” Feng Zeyu shook his head, adamantly objecting to that idea.

“Mmm. Then we won’t give them anything. I will always be supportive of you,” said Shu Yan with a smile.

A famous person in Shu Yan’s old world had once said to never tell someone to get over something without experiencing the same pain as them. She felt that the saying was very right.

The original owner had experienced a lot of pain. Feng Zeyu understood her and she understood him. As such, she would never tell him to get over it.

Feng Zeyu gave Shu Yan a hug and thanked her.

The next day, after Shu Yan and Feng Zeyu got off work, they saw Feng Jianghua waiting for them at the end of the block.

Feng Jianghua paused a little when he saw Feng Zeyu. They were father and son but, truth was, they hadn’t seen each other in many years and, when they met again, it felt very surreal.

“Shu Yan told me that you were looking for me. If it was about Grandpa’s house, you can leave now. There’s nothing to talk about,” said Feng Zeyu point blank.

“Feng Zeyu.” Feng Jianghua stopped him. “Your grandfather left you with something else when he passed. Don’t you want it?”

Feng Zeyu had underestimated him. Was he really blackmailing him with something that his grandparents had left for him?

“What is it that you want to say? Speak.” Feng Zeyu looked at Feng Jianghua coldly.
