Chapter 428 - She came at the perfect time. (1)

Shu Yan’s birthday landed on April 10 on the lunar calendar. Shu Yan only learned that from Shu Li. Not even the original owner could remember her own birthday and, for sure, not Shu Yan. She thought her birthday was what was on her ID card.

“Isn’t it May 15?” That was the date on Shu Yan’s ID. Feng Zeyu had memorized it from when he saw it last time.

“My second sister said it was April 10. I had forgotten about it myself.” The original owner had never had her birthday celebrated before. It would only make sense that she couldn’t remember.

“It’s not too late now,” said Feng Zeyu as he held Shu Yan’s hand. His hand was a bit warm. “I will celebrate it every year with you going forward.”

“Okay!” Shu Yan cocked her head, smiled, and agreed.

Feng Zeyu mumbled to Mao Weiping when he arrived at the office. “What should I get her for her birthday?”

“Boss Shu’s birthday is coming up? Give her flowers or jewelries! Or you can just straight up propose to her. Have a romantic place ready ahead of time and kneel down on one knee. Women will accept your proposal right away when they are touched.” Mao Weiping clapped his hands and felt that his idea was just awesome. “How about right outside of the building? Have everyone witness your love. What do you think?”

Feng Zeyu gave him a stare. “I don’t think.”

Proposal huh? The thought of it made Feng Zeyu’s heart pound.

The two of them had been together for over 6 months and they were already intimate with each other. He got along well with the children as well. Naturally, he would like to be in bed with Shu Yan every night and have the both wife and kids around. Shu Yan, however, was not ordinary people. She had a failed marriage once and it was not easy for her to do it again. He worried it wouldn’t be a pleasant surprise, it would just be a surprise.

Feng Zeyu thought about it long and hard and gave up on that suggestion. He opted to have a normal pleasant surprise for her on her birthday.

It wasn’t even that much of a surprise, just cake, flowers, and tableful of home cooked meal. It was simple but also very thoughtful.

The cake was the kind that Shu Yan liked. The flowers are champagne rose, which was Shu Yan’s favorite. All of the dishes were what Shu Yan liked as well. He would not have known all those unless he had been paying a lot of attention normally.

“Thank you!” Shu Yan smiled a happy smile when she saw the tableful of food.

Feng Zeyu, too, had a happy smile on him. “Let me light the candles.”

Both Feng Zeyu and the children sang Happy Birthday next to her. Shu Yan took a look at them, closed her eyes, and made her wishes.

Her first wish was that her parents and brother in her original world was safe and healthy. Her second wish was that both herself and Feng Zeyu would be happy and in a lasting relationship. “I am going to say my third wish now. I hope that this year will go smoothly for all of us and that we will be safe and healthy. JingJing and Tianbao will grow up happily.”

After shy had blown off all of the candles, the two children clapped loudly. Tianbao handed the knife over to Shu Yan. “Hurry up and cut the cake, Mom.”

“Not too much. You need to save room for dinner.” Shu Yan gave each of them a small slice of cake. Desserts at night are bad for one.

Feng Zeyu even made Shu Yan a bowl of longevity noodle. It even looked legit. Shu Yan smiled at him and ate it.

“It is delicious.” It really was delicious.

After dinner, the two children went to bathe. Shu Yan and Feng Zeyu cleaned up after dinner. Inside the kitchen, Feng Zeyu was in charge of doing the dishes and Shu Yan drying them. It was somewhat like a scene from some drama shows.

“I am very happy today.”

The hands that were doing dishes paused a little. Feng Zeyu smiled and said, “I am glad that you are happy. I was worried…… I am not a sweet talker and not a fun person.” Mao Weiping had, in more than one occasion, said that he was like a piece of wood and didn’t even know how to be romantic.

“Well, I have already fallen for you.” Shu Yan sighed purposefully.

The corners of Feng Zeyu’s lips curved upward uncontrollably.
