Chapter 131 - Finding a new place (3)

Tianbao was still fine, he had been with Shu Yan the last few days. Ye Jingjing, on the other hand, hadn’t had her mother’s cooking in a while. When she had something of familiar taste, she had a big bowl of rice and was stopped by Shu Yan when she went for a second bowl.

“No, that’s enough. You will have a stomachache if you have more.” Shu Yan noticed that Ye Jingjing had head lice again when she was washing her hair. Where did those come from?

“I don’t know, Mommy. It itches.” For some reason, Ye Jingjing has become whinier since she got home.

Shu Yan quickly finished washing her hair and took her to the living room to comb her for hair lice. Luckily, there weren’t too many of them. But she would, nonetheless, need to boil her tops and bottoms that she had worn in hot water, along with clean ones.

The next day, when Shu Yan took the two kids to school, Tianbao quickly ran inside of the school. The kiddo had been cooped up inside for too long.

When Shu Yan arrived at her shop, she asked Zhang Huaxiu, “Anything from next door today?”

“No, nothing.” Zhang Huaxiu gave Shu Yan a baffled look.

“Nothing much. How was business yesterday afternoon and the evening?” Shu Yan flipped through her accounting book and counted the money. She had 1,200 yuan. That wasn’t too bad.

“Alright.” Zhang Huaxiu and Yingying didn’t think the same way. During their promotional period, they were doing some 7,000 ~ 8,000 yuan of business a day. The highest day, they even broke 10,000 yuan. That was a far cry from their 1,000 yuan now.

Shu Yan smiled, “1,000 yuan is not bad. Why are you guys aiming higher than the boss, eh?”

The shop didn’t include lunch, but during the promotional period, they were so busy that Shu Yan would order out and eat with them. Now that they were no longer busy, they would have to figure it out for themselves. Both of them brought lunch. Zhang Huaxiu was alright, she has a meat dish, a vegetable dish, and even an egg. Yingying only has a cabbage and two steamed buns.

“That’s not enough food. Are you short on money? I can prepay you your salary.” Shu Yan couldn’t help but say.

“Oh that’s enough. I like eating this,” said Yingying with a smile.

Like eating that? They have had lunch together before. Shu Yan would always order two meat dishes and they’d be all gone with Yingying having the most. There was no grease at all on this cabbage. Supposedly, she got paid pretty decently and didn’t need to eat like this. But that was, after all, somebody else’s business. Shu Yan didn’t want to pry too much.

When Shu Yan returned after lunch, there were a lot of people surrounding the shop next door. Even Zhang Huaxiu and Yingying were standing outside the door peeking over.

“What happened?”

“Boss Lady. Listen to this. Le was having an affair with a married man. He was the one who funded her shop. His wife had found out and brought a crowd over to smash the place. Boss lady, they are coming out now. They are coming out now…” said Yingying excitedly.

Shu Yan looked up and saw two men dragged out a naked woman, who was obviously Le.

“Help! They are going to kill me! Help me! Someone! Call the cops! I want to call the cops!” Le exploded all of a sudden, broke free from the two men, and covered up her delicate areas.

At that moment in time, a woman in a lavender dress walked out from the shop. She was pretty and had a good temperment. She looked at Le from a distance, as though she was too dirty to get any closer to.

“You didn’t think it was shameless when you were cheating. Why are you scared now?” said the woman nonchalantly. She didn’t have any of the frantic and craziness of a wife beating up on the third person in her marriage.

“It was your own fault that you can’t keep your man to yourself. What was I supposed to do when he came looking for me? Why didn’t you go deal with him? Why are you doing this to me?” Le looked around and suddenly spotted Shu Yan. “Give me something to wear. Please….”

Shu Yan raised her brows. Was she alright? After all that she had done, now she turned to her for help? Shu Yan scooted over a little and hid behind some of the bystanders.

“Zhu Hung. Zhu Hung. Help me. Help me please.” Le was frantic earlier. Now that she saw Zhu Hung was nearby, she quickly turned to her.

Unexpectedly, Zhu Hung spit on the ground and said, “I didn’t know you were having an affair with a married man. Do not ever mention to anyone that we know each other. That is too shameful for me.”

Le’s eyes widened. Zhu Hung knew she was a mistress the entire time. She couldn’t believe what she was hearing right now.

“Cousin.” Finally, it was Fan Xiaomei who took her own jacket off and put it over Le. With her arms around Fan Xiaomei, she looked over at the woman. “Why are you here picking on my cousin? If you are so mighty, you should go watch over your own man.”

The woman looked at Fan Xiaomei with interest. “I haven’t even gone for you yet. But you showed up on your own.”

“What do you mean by that?” Fan Xiaomei looked at the woman alarmingly.

“Was it fun to serve the same man as your cousin?”
