Chapter 51: A Storm Brewing

Some of those people were capable of special abilities, which gave them a distinctive edge over common warriors. It was a pity that they had to fight Lu Xuan.

They were all easily taken care of.

Being Cultivators at that stage, be it warriors or the Awakened, all of them, nonetheless, still had mortal bodies, and it would have only taken one swing of the blade to take care of one of them.

This was even true for the likes of Lu Xuan, who would need to rely on the Shield of Vigor to resist bullets of larger caliber.

Without the Shield of Vigor, even Lu Xuan would have easily died from such hits.

Gaining access to Shield of Vigor allowed him to easily withstand hits from light weapons easily, which was why those at level six were known to be martial arts legends.

That was because they were indeed like beings told in myths and legends.

Lu Xuan did not stop there. He closed his eyes and sensed around carefully, finding no life signs throughout the entire villa.

While Lu Xuan’s Mental Capacity was lacking given his current stage of cultivation, if he were to be able to make a breakthrough and reach the level of National Guardian, which was level seven, he would have been able to sense individual qi that differed from one person to another.

However, his skills were sufficient enough to tell that Luo Ying was probably not around.

She had probably left a while ago.

Lu Xuan had no idea that Luo Ying had accidentally got her hands on his astonishing data in the martial arts competition and left the place early and in a hurry just so to avoid running into him prematurely.

Lu Xuan’s reactions were quick enough. He immediately went to the south with the intention of killing Luo Ying after knowing that she appeared around his parents.

However, Luo Ying proved even quicker than he was. She left immediately after learning just how fearsome Lu Xuan was.

“Lucky you indeed, but I’m gonna get you next time!” Lu Xuan quipped coldly. Luo Ying made him look very, very bad before. However, her case was totally different from that of Yan Han, who became a serious threat to Lu Xuan due to his own impressive fighting prowess.

Luo Ying, on the other hand, caused Lu Xuan a lot of trouble because of her brutal, underhanded tactics and cunning personality.

Lu Xuan quickly left the scene after noting that he failed to achieve his objective, returning home to meet with his parents.

Police sirens were heard shortly in the villa. Many patrol cars showed up. The killings in the villa were discovered soon by security guards who were patrolling the place, and they called the police.

The matter could not have been concealed for long, and those who looked hard soon enough caught wind of what happened.

Yun Sheng and Square-faced Fatso were sitting across each other in the office of the Chief of Fu City’s Special Task Force.

Both men had just received information from the Special Task Force of Sha City.

Yun Sheng browsed the information and handed them to the fatso, then said, “Take a look at the information. Just got faxed here a while ago. The base of the Luo Clan in Sha City had just been uprooted altogether. Over a dozen inner circle Cultivators ended up killed on the spot. Luo Ying was not among them, so she probably didn’t manage to meet him.”

The fatso read the files. He knew who Yun Sheng was talking about. With the way things were at the moment, even the dumbest of them would have been able to tell that the matter had something to do with Lu Xuan.

Despite being a veteran who had seen many cases throughout the years, he nonetheless was quite taken aback.

There were three of those Cultivators who were of level four—Attainment Level—Cultivators, and one at level five—Baodan Grandmaster Level. The rest were all level three Cultivators.

The Special Task Force members would have easily had quite a headache if they were to go against such a lineup, and it would have definitely kicked up a fuss.

However, all of them had ended up being wiped out in that villa. According to what was told in the files, all of them had ended up dead from one swing of the blade each. There was not even a need for further moves.

It was a testament telling of the frightening martial arts abilities of the one who made a move on them.

“I said before that he showed no signs of being antisocial. Guess I’ll have to rescind half of that statement now!” Yun Sheng said, “But then again, his aversion to violence only applies when he and his family are not threatened. Once he and his family are threatened, he will become very, very keen to kill.”

Yun Sheng felt a chill down his spine when he read those files earlier.

“Seems like the Luo Clan finally run into something they can’t quite handle.” The fatso then added, “It’s especially so with that Luo Ying woman. She’s in over her head. She probably never anticipated just how important his family was to our Mr. Lu here. That guy would rather kill than let his family be in danger.

“The Special Task Force of Sha City just sent us information and asked us for our help in the investigation. How should we reply?” Fatso asked, looking at Yun Sheng.

“How else can we reply? You saw what was written in the files. Were there even one single decent person in those dozen of dead people? All of them were trash. Every single one of them was on the list of wanted persons of the Special Task Force!” Yun Sheng lit a cigarette and continued, “We’ve tried to hunt those people down before, and all of them disappeared seemingly without a trace. Looks like they have been brought into Luo Clan’s fold then.”

Yun Sheng looked rather baffled when he said that. “Why would the Luo Clan want those people in their fold? The hell? Are they even taking us at the Special Task Force seriously? Just what the hell are they up to?”

Yun Sheng went on to bang the table when he got riled up from the thought, making quite some noise.

On the other side, Luo Ying, who had gotten to another base in Sha City, received some news as well. The might of the Luo Clan was fully exhibited at that moment. The information that she received was not all that different from that in Yun Sheng’s hands.

Luo Ying felt a chill down her spine after reading the files, feeling as if a pair of cold eyes were staring at her from a distance.

The man was powerful, vengeful, and decisive; the man was a lunatic.

Those terms seemed to have entered Luo Ying’s mind at the same time. She thought it would have taken Lu Xuan days to exact his revenge. She totally did not anticipate that he would have acted so frighteningly quickly. She had only left the Lu Clan for mere hours, and that man already came looking for trouble with her.

If it had not been for her intense gut feeling telling her that Lu Xuan would come seeking revenge, resulting in her running right away that night, she would have probably ended up dead already.

“This is interesting.” An eerie smirk was seen on Luo Ying’s face after she was done dealing with the initial panic. “I don’t care just how powerful you are, Lu Xuan. You mess with Luo Clan, and I’ll make sure you get a taste of our might!”

A thought popped up in her head, telling her that she absolutely was unable to let Lu Xuan grow stronger. The man would become a serious threat to the Luo Clan if that were to be allowed to happen.

“I need to get home immediately.” Luo Ying had a plan in her mind. “Lu Xuan, you are but a martial arts legend, and there are many more such legends out there. The world belongs to the corporation, and you’re but a clown in comparison.”

Just as the outside world was caught aghast by the murders that Lu Xuan committed, the man arrived back home at Sha City.

Lu Xuan did not feel anything when he was going on a killing spree a while ago, yet he was feeling rather overwhelmed at the moment. He took out his keys after calming himself down and went into the house.

“Son, you’re back.”

An extremely pretty lady stood up just as Lu Xuan opened the door, calling out in surprise.

The woman looked homely and unassuming, looking to be of 27 or 28 of age at most, and she looked stunning.

“I’m back, mom.”

Lu Xuan was almost sobbing as he said that.
