Chen Yu could remember Xing Bi so vividly—but not because of Xing Bi's achievements.

This drew the attention of the principal, who was still on the podium, addressing the school, and he cast frequent sidelong glances at them.

About twenty minutes later, the pep rally ended.

The leaders stepped off the platform and left the school premises.

"Don't fool around. It's useless." The old policeman was expressionless as he threw his arms around Chen Yu to detain him. "You're suspected of theft," he told him. "Come with us to the police station."

"There must be some kind of misunderstanding! You're arresting the wrong guy. He's just a student!" The homeroom teacher was panicking.

"It's him! If he'd just stolen cigarettes, then so be it. But he even threw ten dollars at me. That's humiliating!" The lady boss took out her tablet and replayed the CCTV video that the surveillance camera in her store had captured.

Sure enough, in the video, everyone could clearly see that Chen Yu was the one who'd stolen the cigarettes.

"This… this…" the homeroom teacher stammered.

The principal, discipline master, and other leaders turned ghastly pale in the face.

"Alright." Chen Yu shrugged his shoulders and said, "I admit that I took the cigarettes. But you weren't going to sell them to me, and besides, I left you money for the cigarettes. How is that stealing?"

"You left money? Are you talking about that 10 bucks?" the old policeman said.

"Yes! I didn't even ask her for change, and she actually called the police? This is all just a bit too much, don't you think? Is there such an overwhelming supply of policemen?"

"Give you change?" The lady boss felt her blood pressure rising as she said, "Red Pagoda Mountains that cost one thousand six hundred and eighty bucks. You just throw me ten bucks and still dare to ask for change?"

"Holy crap? One thousand, six hundred and eighty bucks?" Chen Yu almost bit his tongue off. "Are you selling the Himalayan Mountains?"

The old policeman carefully observed the subtle changes in Chen Yu's expression and confirmed that he wasn't pretending. He roughly understood what was going on, so he loosened his grip and said, "You don't know how much cigarettes cost, do you?"

"Whether I know or not, one thousand six hundred and eighty bucks for a pack of Red Pagoda Mountains is just too crazy, isn't it?" Chen Yu said. "These black-hearted merchants, why don't they just kill to earn their money for the new year?"
