Claire raised her head and met the man’s gaze without fear. “You can hit back.”

Claire clenched the knife in her cuff. As long as he dared to beat her, she could cut his hand tendon in an instant.

However, the man’s hand paused for a few seconds and fell on her cheek, gently stroking it.
