Chapter 131: Hearts Racing

She was not seeing things; this was really happening. Feng Tianlan couldn’t help but call out in a faint voice, “Si Mobai!”

Si Mobai held her tightly in his arms, but without hurting her. His chin rested lightly on her hair. He wanted her to feel as secure as possible. He spoke as gently as he could, but he was still a bit stiff and cold. “I’m here, you don’t have to be scared.”

These subtle gestures made Feng Tianlan’s heart skip a beat, and she blinked her long eyelashes several times.

She could hear the roar of the wind as they fell but did not feel it because he shielded her so well. The large palms that held her were so warm they could have scalded her. Her face was so close to his chest that she could hear the sound of a heart beating very fast.

Thump! Thump! Thump!

The heartbeat was so fast. It was like something was trapped inside and trying to come out. But she wasn’t sure—was this the sound of her heart or his?

She had no idea, and neither did he!

The two of them were locked in an embrace, falling thousands of feet into a ravine. Their hair flew in the wind and intertwined together. It was as if time itself had stopped to remember this beautiful moment.

They continued to fall together with the wind blowing in their hair and clothes. It was as if a fairy couple had descended from heaven to have fun on earth.

Si Mobai held onto Feng Tianlan and landed on the ground steadily. His beautiful eyes looked at Feng Tianlan in his arms.

Feng Tianlan’s feet felt the ground, and she looked back up at him. The first thing she saw was his well-defined jawline, his beautiful eyes, and that fiery blood-red dot in between his eyebrows. He was indeed as cold as a celestial being—and as charming as the devil.

Their eyes met, and it was instantly electrifying.

Both of them instantly turned red in the face and felt dizzy, as if they had a fever. Their hearts suddenly started beating fast again, and you could almost hear their heartbeats in the stillness of the air. An amorous atmosphere heated up their surroundings.

“Are you able to walk by yourself?” Si Mobai suppressed the feelings in his heart, and his face was no longer red. But, if you looked closely, you could see that the flush in his face had moved to his ears. They were now so red they were close to bleeding.

Feng Tianlan also tried her best to suppress her feelings. “Yes, I can.”

Si Mobai quietly nodded and carefully let go of her hand. Feng Tianlan suddenly went limp and nearly fell to the floor, so he quickly caught her by the waist and held onto her.

“I can walk by myself.” The hand on her waist was so frighteningly hot. Feng Tianlan’s face started turning red again.

Si Mobai didn’t say anything but held onto her with a bit more strength. He didn’t give her the chance to reject him.

Feng Tianlan had almost no more strength left. She was also seriously injured, so she was unable to struggle and could only hold onto a corner of Si Mobai’s sleeve. She didn’t dare grip it too tightly nor grab too much of his sleeve. Such an intimate action made her heart beat faster and her breathing more difficult.

In her previous life, she had been childhood friends with Jiang Ying, but they’d never done anything so intimate. At that time, she’d been very careful to keep a safe distance and not do anything that might cause any misunderstanding or cross the line. The most she’d ever done with Jiang Ying was walk side by side with him.

Si Mobai continued to hold on to Feng Tianlan and walked steadily on. When he heard her quick breathing, he glanced down to see that her face was all red. Her eyes kept avoiding him.

The last few times they’d met, she’d been cold and distant. Now, she was behaving like a shy young girl. Si Mobai subconsciously curled his lips into a smile and thought: So, she has a soft a side after all.
