Rising Cloud Inn

“There are also three inns in the town. Their first floor is usually used to entertain guests for meals. I’ve been to all three of them. Tonight, you can stay at the Rising Cloud Inn.

“Their room is relatively clean, and the boss of the inn and his workers are quite amiable. When the time comes, I’ll take the quilt and pillow you’ve used and make a new bed.”

The longer he lived in the cave, the more Zhao Zhan felt like he was trying her badly. Therefore, as soon as the rain stopped, he quickly checked all the Inns.

However, when the time came, Zhao Zhan only allowed her to sit at the side and give pointers the entire time. If he blocked Yue Jiaojiao’s line of sight and she couldn’t see clearly, Zhao Zhan would run over and move the small stool for her to get a better angle.

The tofu was a success.

Yue Jiaojiao had only taught him once while watching from the side, and Zhao Zhan had already successfully made the tofu.

The most difficult part was solved, and Yue Jiaojiao had him press another plate of dried beans out.

Zhao Zhan placed the tofu and dried beans under the shed to dry, then carried a can of bean sprouts that Jian Xinjian had been talking about and went with her to town.

This was the first time Yue Jiaojiao had come to a town since she arrived in this world.

Wangshan Town was not big and had four streets in the East, West, South, and North. Most of the residents on East Street were local commoners, more rich families lived on South Street, a market with many shops opened on West Street, and a mix of good and bad people lived on North Street, where most of the people were peddlers.

The Rising Cloud Inn that Zhao Zhan had mentioned was located at the intersection of South and West Streets. The shop had a total of three floors and seemed to be quite old.

“Will you be staying the night?”

As soon as he entered the door, the worker welcomed him warmly.

“I’ll stay here. Help me get the best room in this place.”

“Wait a minute,” Yue Jiaojiao stood beside Zhao Zhan and spoke without waiting for the worker to respond, “I don’t need the best. Just get a medium-class room.”

The worker immediately chuckled and responded loudly, “Alright, please follow me.”

The middle-class rooms were on the second floor.

As soon as Zhao Zhan entered the room, he busied himself with washing and tidying up. While he was busy, Yue Jiaojiao took the opportunity to carry a can downstairs and found the worker. “How much do we have to pay for using the kitchen?”

“There’s a separate small kitchen in our courtyard that’s free of charge for the guests. If you need to use ingredients, the restaurant will charge you based on what you use.”

It was quite humane.

“I might need to use some pork, scallions, ginger, and garlic.”

The worker’s attitude towards Yue Jiaojiao became even more polite when he heard this. “I can tell that you’re a very particular person. We ordinary people don’t usually use these when cooking. Our shop only uses these spices when we cook something big for an event. May I ask, what kind of food are you planning to make?”

Yue Jiaojiao had been waiting for him to ask, so when she heard his question, she showed him the contents of the jar. “These are bean sprouts that I made at home. These things can replenish one’s soul. You see, although my husband is from a village below, he’s tall and strong because our family often eats these vegetables.”

Even Yue Jiaojiao wanted to praise herself for being smart by using Zhao Zhan as living proof.
