Yue Jiaojiao was led by Zhao Zhan to stand up and face him. Then, Zhao Zhan pulled her into his arms and wrapped Yue Jiaojiao tightly in his outer robe.

Zhao Zhan was very tall.

Yue Jiaojiao’s head was just above his chin.

With the continuous sound of the rain, the curtain of rain outside isolated everything. Yue Jiaojiao’s entire body was wrapped in Zhao Zhan’s aura. Listening to his rapid heartbeat, Yue Jiaojiao could not help but lean against his chest and chuckled. “Zhao Zhan, your heartbeat is disturbing me.”

A loud strike woke Zhao Zhan’s daze. He immediately covered Yue Jiaojiao’s ears and looked toward the source of the sound. In this heavy rain, more than half of the thatched house had collapsed, and the roof of the room Yue Jiaojiao was resting in had collapsed beyond recognition.

Zhao Zhan felt extremely lucky.

Good thing Jiaojiao said she did not want to go in.

If she were to be crushed by the roof, just thinking about it would make Zhao Zhan feel like he would go crazy.

He patted Yue Jiaojiao’s back and looked down at her as if he was coaxing a child. His voice was unbelievably soft. “Are you scared?”

Zhao Zhan subconsciously raised the corner of his lips.

He never smiled, and Yue Jiaojiao caught this smile. Her soft little hand touched the corner of his lips and pressed it, her fingertips caressing his face. “Zhao Zhan, you’re so cute when you smile. Now that the house has collapsed, how are you going to settle me down? I’m not going to stay there.”

It was still raining, so there was no way to repair it. However, no matter where they went, Zhao Zhan felt that he was not worthy of Jiaojiao.
