Chapter 669 Why am I so anxious?

After having a good glance at herself in the mirror, she reached out to touch her waist, before reaching for her face with her palms.

When she pressed her cheeks, she took her hands off, before using a finger to press her cheek while Fu Hua watched her in confusion.

”What are you doing?” Fu Hua asked as he took a few steps closer to her.

Jia Li took her gaze off the mirror for a few seconds to ask, “Do you think I’m putting on weight?”

”Did you just notice it now, my arms almost broke when I lifted you from the bed to this place?” Fu Hua said with a smirk. There was a hidden smile. behind that smirk, but Jia Li was too preoccupied with his words to see it.

”Really? Like seriously, did I put on weight?” Jia Li asked with a shocked-filled gaze. Her eyes were about to pop out of her eye sockets, and this tempted Fu Hua to laugh, but he got a good grasp of his emotions.

Fu Hua coughed before nodding his head in response.

Suddenly Jia Li who was worried about putting on weight smiled and said to him, “Then I shouldn’t lose weight, instead you should be the one to work out more so you would be able to carry your wife no matter how much she weighs.”

”Is this you being shameless right now?” Fu Hua asked with a small laugh. He couldn’t believe that his wife could be sarcastic. She really was good with words.

”If you say that I am shameless, I can’t deny it, but then my homelessness can never be compared to yours.” Saying that Jia Li took a few steps toward him. And now that she closed the gap between them, she said with a loving smile, “Darling, make sure to work out more often, otherwise, you would become very weak and lose to me.”

A satisfied smile played on Jia Li’s lips, and she was about to walk away when Fu Hua suddenly swept her off her feet. Jia Li let out a yelp and held him tightly as he twirled with her in his arms.

”No matter how much weight you put on, I will still be able to lift you and twirl this way.” Fu Hua said to her as a smile could be detected in his tone.

Jia Li had to beg him to stop twirling because she was dizzy. Luckily, Fu Hua took her words seriously and stopped. But then, she wanted to jump out of his arms, only to do that and nearly fall since her surrounding was still turning in her eyes.

Fu Hua quickly held her and brought her into his arms, “Are you okay? why did you jump off immediately?”

Jia Li still had her fingers pressed on her temples as she replied, “Looks like you are not the only one that needs to keep fit.”

Some minutes later, Jia Li and Fu Hua were in the bathtub taking turns helping each old rub their backs.

Currently, Fu Hua was helping Jia Li to shampoo her hair, after which he massaged the shampoo into her head for a while. Jia Li enjoyed this little hair massage section with her eyes closed. And finally, when it was done, she opened her eyes and frowned at her husband.

”Why are you looking at me that way?” Fu Hua asked with a low chuckle as he rinsed off the shampoo from her hair.

”Why did you stop?” Jia Li questioned with a pout. She was unsatisfied that he stopped the massage she was enjoying greatly.

Fu Hua continued rinsing off the foam from her head while replying with a smile, “Should I have let you fall asleep then?”

Jia Li did not reply. She was still fuming within her until Fu Hua compromised.

”Would you like to go to the spa within the week?”

”Forget it, I don’t have time for it.” Jia Li replied. She had an important project she was working on, and so, a massage was totally out of her agenda at the moment.

After washing up and getting dressed, Jia Li and Fu Hua got into bed.

”Good night.” Fu Hua said after turning off his lamp and then closing his eyes.

”Good night.” Jia Li replied and turned off her bedside lamp as well. Fu Hua had his eyes closed because he was ready to go to bed, but Jia Li was not, as something was bothering her, and she didn’t want to talk to Fu Hua about it yet until she was sure of it.

Picking up her phone again, Jia Li went back to her calendar to check on the dates. “When will it come?” She whispered to herself as she bit on her fingernails.

’Why am I so anxious?!’ Jia Li thought to herself with a sigh. After two seconds of staring into space, she turned off the light from her phone and kept it on the nightstand before tucking herself in.

Throughout the night, Jia Li was restless and when she finally slept and woke up in the morning, Fu Hua was already up and was staring at her.

”Sweetheart, are you okay?” Fu Hua asked with a slight worry in his tone. He couldn’t help but ask because her rolling around in the sheets last night disturbed his sleep last night, and that was how he guessed that something was wrong with her.

He didn’t want to ask her about it in the middle of the night, so he waited till the morning to ask.

”Yeah, I’m fine. Do I look like I am not okay?” Jia Li asked with a nervous gaze. She tried to mask her anxiousness but Fu Hua seemed to have seen it in her eyes and came to sit next to her on the bed.

”Sweetheart, can you stop denying the fact that something is wrong with you? You can talk to me, and we can think of a solution together.”
