Chapter 46 - Dressing Competition

"How was college today?." Li Huan asked, striking up a conversation.

"It was fine." Jia Li gave a simple reply. She was still nervous. After receiving his call today in school, and then seeing him the next hour, she didn't know how to react. She was still a bit shy and didn't know how to face him.

There was suddenly an awkward silence. Jia Li refused to glance at him, and kept her eyes straight.

Li Huan glanced at her, and noticed she wasn't looking at him or saying anything, he thought she didn't want to talk to him and unconsciously shook the nylon in his hand, it was only then that Jia Li glanced at him.

Jia Li noticed the leather in his hand and asked with a curious gaze, "Brother Li Huan, did you go out to buy something?."

Glancing at the leather in his hand with a smile, he replied, "Yes. I went to buy drugs ???? for my mother."

"Your mother is still unwell?." Jia Li asked in confusion. She remembered that he mentioned his mother getting better yesterday, so what happened?

"She caught a cold, so I had to go and go buy cold medicine. As for the other one, she has fully recovered.

" Okay. I will cook some porridge and bring it over, Brother Li Huan, see you later." Jia Li said to him before walking away in quick steps.

Li Huan had his hand stretched out and his mouth agape but he still couldn't do anything. He could only watch helplessly as Jia Li walked away.

Consoling Himself that she was coming to his house, he smiled to himself and walked towards the direction of his house.

He has other thoughts, but he shook them away. He wanted to go to the Qin house to wait for her, but he knew that move would be inappropriate, so he turned around and walked back home.

When Jia Li got home, she immediately started to prepare the porridge and started the preparation for dinner.

After walking for two hours in the kitchen, the dinner and the porridge were ready. And with the sense that she might be delayed at the Li house, she served the dinner in thermo-playes and left them on the dining table for her parents.

Then she washed up and oiled up the porridge in a flask and left the house with it.

Mrs. Li was surprised to see Jia Li, and the latter welcomed her with a warm smile.

Jia Li handed over the flask to her as she said, "Aunty, I heard from Brother Li Huan that you caught a cold, so I hope you won't mind that I prepared such a plain porridge for you."

"You are such a kind and thoughtful child, thank you." Mrs. Li said as she took the flask from her. She offered her a seat, and just then Li Huan walked in with a warm smile on his face.

Mrs. Li chatted with Jia Li for a while, with Li Huan chipping in some words from time to time. Jia Li glanced at the wall clock in the living area before saying to Mrs. Li with a smile.

"Aunty, it's getting late, I have to leave now."

Mrs. Li smiled and allowed her to leave, but she instructed her son to send her back to her house.

On their way back to the Qin house, Li Huan and Jia Li chatted about little things, but mainly about Li Huan's life in the city.

.When they finally got to the door of her house, Li Huan said goodbye to her before turning away.

Jia Li smiled and walked in. Her parents were back already and were sitting at the dining table. Mrs. Qin saw her walk in and called her to the dining area.

Jia Li smiled and greeted her parents before coming to her seat.

"Jia Li, where did you go to? You made a whole table of delicious dishes and disappeared." Mr. Li asked.

Since they asked, Jia Li had no choice but to explain things to them.

"How is Mrs. Li, now?." Hearing that Li Huan's mother caught a cold, the couple asked.

"Yes is fine now." Jia Li replied.

Jia Li's parents put more food on her plate and asked her to eat.

These days, their family was peaceful and harmonious. Maybe it was good that they were just three.

It's been a few days since the models were selected by FJ styles, and today, notices were sent to their agency to notify them of the date and time to come for measurement.

Fu Meixu received the message from her agency, but she didn't sound happy. Since she was exposed and confronted in front of the entire family by her cousin, she has been feeling down.

She was not as thick-skinned as his mother was happy that things were progressing in her favor since their plans worked out.

"Fu Hua has let you remain in FJ styles, so this is the opportunity to get to the top. Behave yourself when you get there because your cousin is still angry with us." Fu ChunHua advised.

She could tell her daughter wasn't happy, but she took the blame for the shame because if she didn't provoke Fu Hua, none of this would have happened.

Fu Meixu sighed and slowly nodded. When the day for her measurements to be taken came, her agency sent her and the other senior actress to FJ Styles with their company van.

On their way to FJ, Fu Meixu tried to curry favor with the A-list actress, but the latter gave short replies, and not getting enthusiasm from her, Fu Meixu snorted in her heart and gave up.

'Wait till I get to the top and see if you still dare to ignore me.' Fu Meixu swore in her heart.

It seems that what was happening in front of FJ styles was a parade, because all the models that were selected, came in their company vans, and they were all dressed as if they came for a dressing competition.
