Chapter 171 - End Relations With Her

While Jia Li had a relaxing and somewhat boring day, Fu Hee had it far worse.

Since she learned that Jia Li was pregnant, her mind has not been at ease. She was so angry that she became breathless.

She wanted to break the things in her room to release her anger, but when she realized that she would have to replace them with her money, she refrained from doing it.

The things she wanted to break were not cheap, so there was no need to make a hole in her pocket.

Fu Hee sat on the bed to do her breathing exercises, and when she was through, she picked up her phone to call Mrs. Bai.

On the third ring, the call was answered.

"Fu Hee, do you want to come out for some tea?" Bai Fen asked as she blew on her fingernails. She was currently in the salon and her toenails were being painted now.

"I'm not in the mood for that. There is a big problem before us." Fu Hee revealed with an ugly facial expression.

Hearing there was trouble and with Fu Hee's angry tone, Bai Fen knew that things were serious and stopped joking and asked, "What could be wrong? What happened?"

"That girl is pregnant." Fu Hee revealed.

"Which girl, you mean your daughter-in-law?" Bai Fen asked with a frown as she felt a bad premonition.

"Which other person would put me in a bad mood?" Fu Hee asked in an annoyed tone.

"What? How could you let that happen? Fu Hee did you go back on your promise, how could you not keep watch on that girl?!" Bai Fen asked in an agitated tone.

This was the worst news ever. Jia Li was pregnant, was their plan not over?

"How is it my fault when the two of them are not living under the same roof as me, and I was not even allowed to visit them." Fu Hee asked angrily. She couldn't help but be angry at Bai Fen for blaming her.

"If it's not your fault, is it my fault then? Are you trying to ruin the only chance my daughter has for making a comeback with your son? You don't care anymore because it was not your daughter's heart that was broken right?" Bai Fen asked as she kicked the person attending to her toenails.

She was very angry and curse Fu Hee for being irresponsible. How could she not put her eyes on such an important matter?

Fu Hee had already had it up to her neck. She couldn't tolerate Bai Fen's insults and blames, so she said to her directly without hiding her thoughts and emotions...

"Bai Fen don't blame or insult me, you have no right to do that. Go ahead and find another son-in-law for yourself and leave me alone. I have already lost a lot from fighting for your daughter and you still have to blame me for everything. Fine, it was my mistake that I asked for us to set our children up. Since I wasted a good opportunity to have you get the perfect husband for your daughter, I will compensate you. Tell me how much you want!"

After passing the message across, Fu Hee terminated the call and threw her phone on the bed. She was huffing mad.

"Bai Fen who do you think you are? Always insulting and blaming me for everything! Did I kill any member of your family?" Fu Hee muttered to herself in anger.

With everything that was happening Fu Hee was fed up with Bai Fen's attitude towards her, and didn't mind the amount of money it will take to settle the matter, so nothing would make them cross paths again.

Bai Fen was alarmed when she heard Fu Hee say that she wanted to end relations with her. Fear gripped her chest. And before she could say anything, Fu Hee ended the call without waiting to hear her response.

Bai Fen couldn't allow her hard work and expectations to go down the drain. She has to come this far, so she couldn't give up now.

She tried calling Fu Hee's number, but it was not reachable.

'Did she block my contact?' Bai Fen thought to herself as she tried Fu Hee's number again, but the result remained the same.

"Paint this thing quickly, I need to leave here!" Bai Fen said to the person she kicked earlier. The young attendant sat on her stool and continued painting her nails.

When Bai Fen thought of the opportunities she would lose if Fu Hee cut off all ties with her, the more she couldn't let that happen.

Later in the day when Fu Hee finally came out from her room, she was in time to see Jia Li and Fu Hua coming into the house.

She didn't even say anything to any of them and directly walked past them. Fu Hua who wanted to greet her was surprised by her attitude.

He wondered what was going on with her before resuming his steps with Jia Li.

Jia Li was also surprised by her mother-in-law's attitude, not towards her, but Fu Hua.

Fu Hee always said a few words to Fu Hua and left her out. But to her surprise today, she snubbed the row of them.

Fu Hua didn't dwell on the matter as he went into the inner room to change out of his clothes, but Jia Li was different. She was worried.

'Could it be because of the baby?' Jia Li thought as she sat on the foot of the bed.

When Fu Hua finished changing and came back to the room, he saw Jia Li sitting on the bed with a worried look.

"Go and freshen up and don't dwell on unnecessary matters."

Fu Hee has been annoyed since she spoke with Bai Fen over the phone. She refused to say a word to anyone including Fu Hua.

Fu Hee went to the kitchen directly to get a water bottle for herself. Fu ChunHua who was in the kitchen keeping an eye on the dinner preparation didn't dare to say a word to her. She felt that Fu Hee was scary, as it wasn't the right time to attack her with words.
