Chapter 138 - Jia Li Hides Her Pregnancy From Fu Hua

Knowing that she was pregnant, Jia Li couldn't feel happy.

Of course, why would she be happy? She never had this plan for herself. Her husband didn't love her and she wasn't sure of her feelings for him.

She was also not ready to have and care for a child. She felt that her life was going to go down the drain because she wasn't sure of the future for herself, and now that she was pregnant, how will she take care of the child?

She wasn't even sure that Fu Hua will like the idea of her being pregnant.

Jia Li wanted to cry since she couldn't feel happy.

"Why are you sad, do you want to talk about it?" The doctor asked in a worried tone.

Jia Li shook her cranium and muttered in a low tone, "No."

"If you want to talk to me, you know you can." The doctor said to her with a kind smile.

Right then, Jia Li's phone started ringing. Taking the phone out of her bag, she glanced at the caller ID only to see it was Fu Hua.

"Excuse me." She said to the doctor before accepting the call.

Fu Hua, who was driving and had a bluetooth on his ear, asked "Where are you? Are you through with your exams for today?"

"I'm... I'm in the hospital." Jia Li stuttered whole replying because she was tensed.

"Which hospital, I'm coming there now?" Fu Hua asked as his tone changed.

He called to see if Jia Li was through with her exams, so he could take her to the hospital to get the tests done. But now she was in the hospital already, he would have to go meet her there.

Jia Li gave him the address of the hospital she was in before the call terminated.

"Your relative is coming? Do you need my help to break the news to him?" The doctor asked after she guessed that it was Jia Li's husband that called her.

"No... No..." Jia Li rejected with a frantic expression on her face. She looked scared.

"Okay. I will refer you to my friend who is an obstetrician, she will prescribe some drugs for you that you need to be take till the end of your pregnancy. She will also give you some drugs to help with your fever and headaches." The doctor said as he put back the pregnancy test result into the envelope along with the pregnancy test kit before handing it over to her.

"Thank you!" Jia Li said as she took the envelope from her nervously. She was still thinking about the pregnancy because it was a shock to her.

The nurse present in the room took Jia Li to the office of the obstetrician, who prescribed some drugs for Jia Li.

The nurse helped Jia Li to get the drugs that were prescribed for her, and as Jia Li didn't have any card to pay, because she forgot her card at home, she had to wait for Fu Hua to arrive.

A minute later, Fu Hua walked in with his usual cold gaze. When he saw Jia Li standing at the counter with a nurse beside her, he frowned and made his way to them.

Before Fu Hua could ask her any question, Jia Ki quickly said to him in a soft tone.

"Please... can I have your card, I forgot mine at home?"

Fu Hua stared at her for 3 seconds before taking his black card from his jacket and passed it to her.

"Thank you!" Jia Li said to him before handing the card to the nurse.

All the nurse could think was how rich and handsome Fu Hua was. Well, she didn't have anything bad in mind when she thought like that, she was only admiring his status.

She didn't really recognize Fu Hua, otherwise, she would have freaked out.

"How were your test results, What did the doctor say was wrong with you?" Fu Hua asked Jia Li after the nurse left with his card.

Jia Li became tensed when he asked that question, and her heartbeat increased by a few paces. She didn't know how to reply to him, and she was too scared, to tell the truth. So, the only option was to lie.

"I...I... The doctor said I have a fever and malaria."

Fu Hua frowned as he slowly moved his gaze to her hand that was holding onto the drugs packed in leather.

"How come you were given so many drugs to take?" Fu Hua asked as he fixed his gaze on her.

"It's just some vitamin and iron supplements."

Jia Li quickly hid the drugs behind her as she lied again. She forgot to hide the drugs in her backpack just like she did with the envelope.

Fu Hua felt that something was wrong with Jia Li, and she was lying to him. This made him wonder what was actually wrong with her, and if she was terribly sick.

Since she didn't want to say the truth or give the medical report to him, he decided to make an investigation after sending her home.

When the nurse returned, She returned the card and the receipt ???? for the things she paid for to him.

Fu Hua put his black card and the receipt in his pocket without looking at them, then he thanked the nurse and left the hospital with Jia Li.

The mid-30's nurse, had a smile on her face as she watched Fu Hua and Jia Li leave together.

On their way home, Jia Li was so quiet and was lost in thought, and she had no idea that Fu Hua was paying special attention to her.

When they got home and walked into the house, Jia Li went straight to her bedroom without saying anything.

'What's wrong with her?' Fu Hua thought with a frown. He almost wanted to confront Jia Li because he didn't like her attitude, but he held himself back.

Fu Hua walked into his bedroom, and the first thing he did was to take his card and the receipt out from his pocket.

He was already crumbling the receipt ???? in his hand when he suddenly paused.

He put his card on the bed, before unfolding the crumbled receipt to take a look at the drugs Jia Li purchased because he was curious to know what kind of drugs were prescribed for her.
