Chapter 117 - Locking Her Up In Prison

Jia Li walked out of the house and went straight to the back to find her dog who was kept in its cage.

When the German Shepherd saw its owner, it started barking happily.

Jia Li smiled as she released it from its kennel and rubbed its head.

"Did you miss me already?" Jia Li asked with a loving smile as she knelt on the grass and rubbed its head.

She always made sure to come to see the dog and play with it every day. And most times when she doesn't have the time, the person grandfather Fu got to take care of it, will do that in her stead.

The dog barked to acknowledge Jia Li's words.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry, I missed you too." Jia Li said as she hugged the dog with a smile.

The dog seemed happy as it stayed allowed Jia Li to hug her.

"Ocean, let's go for a walk." Jia Li said as she stood to her feet with a gentler gaze.

Ocean barked in acknowledgment as she followed Jia Li out.

While strolling in the big compound, Jia Li talked to the dog happily, and at times it would shake its tail and respond by barking.

Twenty minutes later, Jia Li walked back to the dog kennel with Ocean tagging along. Now at the dog kennel, Jia Li squat and rubbed her hair.

"Ocean, I have to say goodbye to you. But I promise to send your breakfast tomorrow, now go in." Jia Li said after hugging the dog.

Ocean barked before obediently walking into her kennel, and Jia Li rubbed her back before closing the cage.

Just when she stood up, her phone started to ring, so she took it out of her pocket. When she saw caught a glimpse of the caller ID, she almost face-palmed her forehead because it was her friend that was calling.

DanDan was the one that called earlier when Fu Hua and Jia Li were on their way to the beauty salon, and Jia Li forgot to return the call.

Just as expected when she answered the call, she heard DanDan's loud voice.

"Jia Li, are you okay? You finally answered my call, what happened?!" DanDan asked.

"I'm fine. I'm sorry I forgot to call back. Also, I wouldn't answer your call earlier because I was not in a good place." Jia Li explained.

"Okay, it's good that you are fine, I was worried about you. So, you are married now?" DanDan asked.

"Yes." Jia Li replied in a low tone as she took few steps away from the dog kennel.

"Jia Li, what should I say to you, you are really so pitiful. Your life is being decided and controlled by someone else." DanDan said and sighed thereafter.

"DanDan, don't say that. I'm not being controlled by anyone. This is the first time Grandfather Fu asked something of me, so how could I reject him after everything he did for me?" Jia Li asked as she felt bad DanDan saw the old man as someone that controlled her life.

She would not fail to correct anyone that had any bad impressions about Grandfather Fu, because the man had done a lot for her.

Feeling the disappointment in Jia Li's tone, DanDan apologized right away.

"I'm sorry. Is your husband treating you well at least?" She asked.

"Yeah, he is. Don't be bothered about me, I am living a good life. I only hope you see you and the others soon." Jia Li said with a smile.

"Don't worry, you will see us soon. Just let us know your graduation day, and we will be there to support you." DanDan replied in a lively tone as she became happy.

"Okay, I will give you the date once it's fixed." Jia Li promised.

"Okay. Remember to take care of yourself, and call for help if your husband bullies you. Don't forget to come online more often." DanDan reminded her kindly.

"I will, thank you. Bye." Jia Li said with a big smile on her face.

After the call ended, Jia Li was still smiling because DanDan was concerned for her.

When Jia Li went back inside the house, she was told that Grandfather wanted to see her.

She had just walked right through the entrance door when she saw Butler Lu.

Butler Lu sighed in relief when he saw her.

"Miss, Master wants to see you." He informed with a smile.

"Okay." Jia Li nodded as she followed him to Grandfather Fu's study, where the old man was waiting.

When Jia Li walked into the room, she met the old man sitting on the couch in the study for the first time since she started staying with the Fu Family.

Grandfather Fu wasn't the only one there, because Jia Li's sight landed on Fu Hua was sitting opposite the old man.

Jia Li walked in and greeted the old man.

"My good granddaughter-in-law, come and sit beside me." Grandfather Fu said with a gentle smile as his gaze rested on Jia Li.

Jia Li gave a small smile as she went to sit beside him.

"I've been waiting for you for a while." Grandfather Fu said as he glanced at her with a smile. He didn't seem as if she had kept him waiting.

"I'm sorry about that, I went to take Ocean for a walk, and then I spoke to my friend on the phone for a while, when I was outside." Jia Li explained.

"It's okay. I wanted to see you for three reasons. Your Aunty is troublesome, she has tried to sell your house more than 10 times now, and she doesn't want to give up. Actually, I'm thinking about locking her up in prison for a few days to teach her lessons about trespassing and trying to sell a property that doesn't belong to her." Grandfather Fu revealed and he didn't seem happy about it.

Over the past year, Mu Keer's situation got worse, and she tried to sell the house that belonged to Jia Li's parents, but she didn't expect not to succeed after trying so many times.

Somehow when she was about to close the deal, the people would not contact her again, and she didn't know the reason for their peculiar actions.
