Chapter 1807 - The Human Scout

Chapter 1807: The Human Scout

Many of the densely-packed monsters on the ground had Detection abilities. The sky above was also dotted with all kinds of creatures. If he didn’t have the Eyes of Grillok, he simply couldn’t keep going.

It would be perfect apart from the fact that it could only be used for 20 minutes at a time, and it could only be used three times.

He was originally going to find a Warlock to notify him of what the enemy was up to, but he had no way to ensure their safety. After all, the Warlock couldn’t hide himself.

Warlocks also had a similar skill called the Eye of Kilrogg.

They were all members of the Bleeding Hollow Clan (a.k.a. The Bleeding Hollow). It seemed like this clan were all able to dig out their own eyes and use it for casting spells.

Following the wishes of his injured, diseased father, Kilrogg Deadeye complied with the clan’s ancient tradition – starting a ceremony to sacrifice one’s own left eye in order to see one’s future fate.

Because of this, in every battle, Kilrogg Deadeye was filled with self-belief in seeing through his own life and death.

Kilrogg was born in Draenor into the Bleeding Hollow Clan. When his clan was almost exterminated by the Arakkoa, he did not surrender. He found the so-called hidden secret room of his clan and conducted a frightful ceremony. In this ceremony, Kilrogg foresaw that his own death was still a long way off, so he knew that he would go through all this suffering.

With this heartening news about his fate, he seized authority in his clan and led the Bleeding Hollow to shatter the menace of the Arakkoa, before attaining countless victories in battles to come. In the following years, he destroyed all those who disagreed with him. Even though he had committed such harsh crimes against those closest to him, he always maintained hope that his fate would lead him.

The Bleeding Hollow Clan was made up of the most ferocious Orcs on the Draenor mainland. Kilrogg had an intensely firm belief in the prophecy of his death. He firmly believed that the Steel Horde would ultimately take him into his own final moment of glory.

The Berserkers under him all thirsted for battle, impatiently waiting for war to arrive. They conducted various mysterious ceremonies as they were filled with the intensely strong desire to kill. Not one of those poor people who strayed into their territory came out alive.

Grillok was simply too different compared to Kilrogg, but his eye was still enough for Lu Li’s purposes.

After getting what he wanted, he began to search around this abandoned city. In his last life, he finished a quest which provided a massive EXP reward. Now, he had to save a human scout who had been taken prisoner.

At that time, he was level 65 and wearing a whole body of decent armor. No one in Zeth’Gor posed a threat to him at all, and he killed the Bleeding Hollow Clan until they were crying and begging for mercy.

Just when he was about to go on his way, he saw a human who had been tortured inside a cage. At this, Lu Li kindly saved him. Sure, he just wanted a reward, but this human scout definitely didn’t let him down either. He gave Lu Li a massive amount of EXP and Reputation. It was said that he held in his hands some vital intelligence that would even impact the war in Stair of Destiny.

The only thing to worry about was that it was still early. If this scout hadn’t been captured yet, then things would be awkward.

After searching for more than an hour, Lu Li found something that looked like what he was looking for in a remote area. It was inside a hollow formed by collapsed walls. The human scout, Cage, maintained a strange position, lying on the ground. This position made him very uncomfortable, but he couldn’t help it, because he had rather vague control over his whole body. It was even hard for him to turn over.

Lu Li speechlessly looked at this horrific mess.

He thought it would be better if he just gave up this quest. In this sort of injurious state, there was no way he could be brought out.

Next to the hollow there were four Bleeding Hollow Berserkers standing guard. They looked intently all around, and had at least two Eyes of Grillok. As soon as there was a problem, they would make a report, and Grillok would be warned immediately.

Later, Lu Li could be surrounded and hemmed in by the Bleeding Hollow Clan.

In his last life, this scout didn’t only chat with the players, but would even fight with them.

However, it all made sense after thinking about it. This was probably a quest that would be made easier in the future.

It evidently wasn’t realistic to kill the guards, then fight their way out with Cage like in his last life.

Lu Li sneakily withdrew, the whole time feeling his way along the outer walls of the abandoned Zeth’Gor. There were quite a few Bleeding Hollow laborers around here, and many of them were holding torches. There was going to be a quest for Lu Li to snatch away these torches and set alight the tents of the Fel Orcs.

This quest would actually cause heavy damage to the Fel Orcs. After Draenor had been shattered, they were extremely lacking in resources, and even tents were a rare thing.

As soon as the tents were set on fire, the Fel Orcs would risk their lives to fight it.

By that time, Lu Li would naturally have a chance to get rid of these NPCs who seemed to have no place left to go.

Actually, the original intent behind the design of this quest was to target groups of players, with everyone sharing roles and working together. Some would go and save people, some would go and set more tents on fire, and some would be on guard. In the end, everyone would share the quest EXP, which was why the reward was so great. Later, after the game updated, some minor changes were made to this quest too. The difficulty was reduced, but the massive EXP reward actually still remained, which could be considered a benefit that the System gave to players who had entered Dawn late.

However, there was no such benefit in the current patch, unless one person finished the quest.

Lu Li didn’t jump into action immediately. Who knew if there were Eyes of Grillok around? After observing for a while, he was sure that there wasn’t anything going on around the Bleeding Hollow laborer. Only then did he walk up for a double kill.

The two torches were in his hands, but Lu Li wasn’t satisfied – he still needed more.

Eight torches would be enough. If he killed too many Bleeding Hollow laborers, the Eyes of Grillok would sense that something was amiss.

This was the first step. After the first step was complete, he would have to look into the route. He needed to set fire to those tents, but where would he go to get away from them? If he encountered a certain situation up the road, how would he face it? It wasn’t until after thinking about it over and over that Lu Li finally dared to jump into action.

The first fire was set a little further away. The purpose was to attract the attention of the Orcs. Then, if the Orcs ran over to see what was going on, Lu Li could jump into action to save people.

The second fire was set next to the storehouse, which it would soon set fire to. The storehouse was full of the Fel Orcs’ accumulated food. Most of it was boar jerky. It was actually rather simple to make and was very fragrant too.

The third fire was set in what looked like an alchemy room. Unfortunately, there was nothing volatile inside, otherwise it would be difficult to control.

The 4th fourth was set next to a tent not far from a Warg den. Lu Li hoped that it would be able to set the Warg den on fire. If so, the Wargs would go crazy, and things would be even better for Lu Li.
