At this moment, he was like a lofty tree providing shelter just in time to escape from the storm.

The man was reluctant to release the girl. Jin Xiangdong increased the force of his grip on the man’s hand.

“I’ll let go. I’ll let go!” In the end, the man had to let go of the girl and Jin Xiangdong slowly loosened his grip.

After the girl was free, she had a conditioned response and instantly hid behind Lu Jia’er. She was shivering with fear.

Things became chaotic. The onlookers, scared of being hurt, quickly stepped aside.

The fierce man swiftly maneuvered Lu Jia’er into a choke hold. “Go away! Get out of the way!”

Jin Xiangdong had not expected that things would develop like this. His eyes brimmed with concern. He was, of course, good at fighting, but at this moment Lu Jia’er was the person being held hostage. He had to act cautiously or Lu Jia’er might get hurt.

The bystanders immediately gave way to the man, who waved the sharp knife in his hand and shouted beastly. “Go away. Get out of the way!”

The man got close to the car and was about to open the door to force Lu Jia’er into the car, all of a sudden his face became bleak, then he loosened the hand that had seized Lu Jia’er and the knife in the other hand also dropped to the ground.

The police and bystanders were taken aback by the scene.

The police stepped forward and restrained the man and pressed him against a window of the car.

Jin Xiangdong went towards her with large strides and asked, “Professor Lu, are you okay?”
