Chapter 16: I’ll Just Accept It With Delight

The summer sun burned like fire and cicadas in the trees on both sides of the road were singing their songs.

Lu Jia’er accompanied Su Han to buy a few books in a bookstore and went straight home. The appropriate amenities for such hot weather were air conditioning, WIFI and watermelons.

Lu Jia’er had just put on her cozy outfit when she heard the doorbell ringing so she went straight to the door .

There was a courier standing there to greet her. “Here’s your parcel, Ms. Lu!”

Lu Jia’er glanced at the large cuboid box placed beside the courier. Then it occurred to her that she had not done any online shopping in the past few days but she still signed the delivery receipt with a pen.

The courier helped carry the box into the room. Su Han who sat on the sofa looked to the door. “What did you get?”

“I’ve no idea!” But as Lu Jia’er stopped and looked at the logo of the product, she instantly remembered what Jin Xiangdong had said the other morning when they said goodbye to each other. “Remember to sign for a package!”

Lu Jia’er was thoroughly curious about what Jin Xiangdong had sent to her. She couldn’t help moving quickly as she strode to the kitchen to fetch a pair of scissors to open the carton.

“What’s inside?” Su Han came over.

“A robot!” Lu Jia’er said after she opened the carton and saw the product inside.

Su Han fixed her eyes on the carton and it was indeed a very cute robot. “Wow!” she exclaimed.

Lu Jia’er did not move the robot out of the carton, instead she picked up her mobile phone and called Jin Xiangdong.

As soon as she got through to him, she heard the beautiful voice of Jin Xiangdong before she could say any words. “Have you received the package?”

“Yes, I have. But I won’t accept an undeserved reward. I have to send it back to you!” Lu Jia’er said.

Faced with Lu Jia’er’s refusal, he replied gracefully, “This is a product that is sent to you for a novel life experience!”

Hearing those words, Jin Xiangdong replied, “I believe that Professor Lu’s knowledge is more valuable than the product!”

The magnetically attractive voice flowed into her ears. Those moving words made Lu Jia’er’s heart beat noticeably faster than usual. Then she heard Jin Xiangdong continue. “I hope it will be helpful to your following work!”

Since Jin Xiangdong had already said it in this manner, she would be unreasonable if she refused again. So Lu Jia’er said, “Since it is necessary for work, I’ll just accept it with delight!”

“Read the instructions for how to use it! You can also call me if you run into anything you do not understand!” Jin Xiangdong reminded her.

After hanging up the phone, Lu Jia’er and Su Han worked together to move the robot out of the carton.

After a second, the robot’s mouth moved slightly. “Hello, Professor Lu Jia’er, I am your robot butler Amy! I am very glad to serve you!”
