"I-impossible. No. No way. My granddaughter...is a half-vampire now?" Bng Huo's grandpa fell to the chair with a loud thud. The old man slumped on the chair as sweat trickled down his wrinkled face.

He didn't have any energy to fix his posture. All he could do was to look at his one and only granddaughter, seeking affirmation.

"Well, yes, that's true. I...become a half-vampire." Bng Huo shrugged. She then came closer to her grandfather before hooking the old man's arm.

"Can you stand up, grandpa?" The girl asked while pulling her grandpa so that he could fix his sitting position.

"Why ask when you already pull me up?" The old man snorted. He clicked his tongue as he wiped his forehead with his left sleeve.

Bng Huo chuckled as she tried to help her grandpa to sit down. "Should I help you to sit "

"No, it's alright. I'm not as weak as you think." Bng Huo's grandpa waved his hand, shaking off Bng Huo's grip on his right arm. The old man then made a shoo-ing gesture, chasing Bng Huo away from his table.

Seeing this, Bng Huo could only smile bitterly while walking back to Xi Xue's place. Once she stood beside the young man, the girl curled up her lips.

'It seems that grandpa isn't that shocked...that's good then, right?'

The old man might look composed right now, but he definitely looked shocked to the core a few minutes ago. Still, as the headmaster of a well-known academy, he managed to regain his calm in no time.

"Ha." The headmaster propped his elbows on the table and sighed. He closed his eyes, took a deep breath before slowly parting his lips.

Xi Xue flinched. The young man gritted his teeth and nodded. "I know. Humans often try to detest mixed-blood and will ostracise them from society."

"If you know, then why" The old man held his breath. He glared menacingly at Xi Xue. "Why did you turn my granddaughter into a half-vampire?!"

The old man released his aura, and the atmosphere changed. Xi Xue felt a tense pressure slamming down his body, just like facing a huge mountain.

His knees suddenly bent, and the young man's body arched forward until he had to squeeze his knees if he didn't want to kneel on the floor

Sweat immediately soaked his forehead and back, and Xi Xue squeezed his eyes.

Bng Huo's heart skipped a beat. That wry smile on Xi Xue's face just stabbed her heart.

'Why? Why does he look like he is expecting this?'

"Xi Xue" Bng Huo wanted to ask the man, but Xi Xue didn't look at her anymore. The young man slowly lifted his head and threw his gaze at the old man a meter away from him.

"I'm sorry. I know what I did is wrong, but" Xi Xue bit his lips. He slowly bowed 90 at the old man. "I will take responsibility. I will not let your granddaughter suffer anything. So, please, please believe me."

"And why should I believe you?" The old man tilted his head. He looked at Xi Xue with sharp eyes. "You are selfish. You know when you turn my granddaughter into a half-vampire...she will get a lot of troubles."

"I know." Xi Xue nodded solemnly.

"Then why? Why do you still insist on turning her? Don't you know that what you did will harm her?" The old man clenched his fists together. He stared at Xi Xue with deep hatred in his eyes.

The old man took a deep breath.
