The butler opened the backseat door, waiting for her to enter. "I will drive you to your destination."

"Thank you." Xia Meilin entered the car and sat on the backseat.

The butler, named Dong Hua went back to the shotgun seat and told the driver the address to where Xia Meilin was going.

"You're coming?" Xia Meilin was surprised.

"Yes, madam. It's the master's order that I should follow you wherever you go from now on." Dong Hua said politely. "I am to make sure of madam's safety."

Dong Hua was the butler that Lu Yifeng assigned for Xia Meilin. Every servant in his place are highly trained fighters and Dong Hua was one of the best fighters amongst the butlers. Although he has a family, his family is working in the main house of the Lu family in Guangzhou.

Xia Meilin couldn't argue with him. Since she is Lu Yifeng's wife now, if she goes without any bodyguards with her, she can be put in danger.

As she sat there quietly, she recalled the kiss Lu Yifeng gave her which made her unconsciously touch her lips.

His lips were cold but soft...

Her cheeks reddened as she thought of his kiss. Why is she acting this way? She hasn't forgiven him yet! And besides, isn't she supposed to be in the process of healing from the trauma he gave her? He shouldn't have taken advantage of her!

But... she doesn't really feel scared or nervous when he did that... although she was surprised and she got angry, she didn't hate him because of it.

She started thinking back to what happened to her four years ago. She was drugged by her close friend, Lin Qingge, and was sent to a hotel room.

She was drugged and Lu Yifeng took advantage of her. She furrowed her brows as she realized something.

Now that she has gotten to know Lu Yifeng more, she started realizing that something doesn't add up in what happened four years ago.

Lu Yifeng is supposed to be a man who avoids women, right? According to Lu Yifeng's personality, if he really is a decent man... he wouldn't have done that.

She will only know the answers to her doubts if she talks things straight with Lu Yifeng. She should go and try to ask him why he did that to her, right?

"Madam, we're here."

She was snapped out of her thoughts by Dong Hua's voice.

They have arrived in the neighborhood where Xia Meilin's friend lived. It wasn't really that far from Lu Yifeng's villa. It was just forty-five minutes of travel.

Dong Hua opened the door for her before he reached a pocket pistol to her in secret.

Xia Meilin didn't question him about it, she kept it in her bag before she went out of the car. "Let's go."

Dong Hua nodded and followed her to the apartment building. Despite his blank look on his face, he always wondered why his master picked a frail-looking girl as his wife. But now, when he handed her the gun, Dong Hua couldn't help but be pleased by how calm she was when she took it.

If it was a normal girl, he would always notice the nervousness and their fear whenever they hold a real gun.

He heard the rumors from the other servants that Xia Meilin saved his master's life and she was a good shooter. He still has his doubts but as he thought that since she was a granddaughter of a former General, she must have taken some training from her grandma, right?

When they went out of the elevator, Xia Meilin walked towards the last door of the building. She rang the doorbell.

Dong Hua was standing behind, wondering who could be the friend that Xia Meilin was going to meet. If it was a man... he was scared to imagine how his master will react when he'll report it to him.

But since she allowed him to accompany her, even if it was a male, it really must be just her friend, right?

When the door was opened, a woman wearing nothing but bra and boxers was seen standing in front of them. She was an inch shorter than Xia Meilin and she was wearing thick glasses. Her shoulder-length, curly hair was in a mess.

Despite looking that way, the woman looked so alluring. She popped out the lollipop that was in her mouth before a wide grin appeared on her lips. "Meimei!"

"Bingbing!"

The two girls hugged each other in delight.

Meanwhile, Dong Hua turned away when he saw Li Bingbing's attire. Outrageous! How can she open the door and show her skin to others so easily!

Li Bingbing pulled away and dragged Xia Meilin inside, "Come in! Come in! It's been so long since we last saw each other!"

"Wait." Xia Meilin paused, "I have a companion with me."

Li Bingbing raised an eyebrow as she turned to look at Dong Hua. She eyed him from head to toe, "He's not handsome enough to enter my place. He will have to wait outside."

"Come on Bingbing, he's my bodyguard." She poked Li Bingbing's forehead.

"The more reason he should wait outside!" Li Bingbing pouted as she rubbed her forehead.

Dong Hua's brow twitched in annoyance before he turned to Xia Meilin. "Madam, I can wait here."

Xia Meilin gave him a sorry look, "There's a cafe across the street. You can wait there if you want."

"Okay. Please message me if anything goes wrong."

"Okay, thank you." Xia Meilin said with a smile.

"Hmp! What could go wrong in this place? This is the safest place Meimei can ever be! F*ck off, old man!" Li Bingbing shut the door by kicking it.

Xia Meilin sighed. "You're still the same as ever."

"And you're still a softie." Li Bingbing said before she put her lollipop again in her mouth. She turned and headed to her room. "Follow me."
