"Xiao Mei, it's me."

Xia Meilin furrowed her brows when she heard a familiar voice from the other line. She looked at her phone screen and was surprised to see who the caller was. She quickly placed the phone back against her ear. "Ning-ge?"

The excitement can be heard from her voice. He was alive! She was busy thinking of other things for the past few months that she forgot something very important for her, Feng Ning was alive!

"How are you?" Feng Ning asked.

"I'm fine, I'm fine." Tears started forming on the side of her eyes. She missed hearing his voice, knowing that he was alive, she help but feel happy.

He sighed in relief when he heard her say that.

"How are you, Ning-ge?" Xia Meilin couldn't help but ask.

"I'm... fine." He softly said. "Are you at home?"

"No. I'm at my grandparents house." She wiped her tears away.

"Is your husband with you?"

She blinked a few times, "Well... no, he's not here. He went to a business trip. Why are you asking?"

"I wanted to visit you tomorrow." He chuckled a bit. "Can I?"

Xia Meilin suddenly remembered the time where she last met with Feng Ning. That was the day where she gave herself a closure with him. She remembered how Lu Yifeng was wary of Feng Ning and because of this, she never brought his name up to him again.

She lowered her head. This time, she knows what she was feeling for Feng Ning, she couldn't feel a thing for him anymore because she has already started loving Lu Yifeng. She also realized that she has mistaken her feelings for Feng Ning as a romantic one when it was just a familial one, no wonder she was able to move on fast from him.

Feng Ning was her childhood friend and was like a second brother to her. But because of how their parents keep on shipping them together, she was influenced by it. When Feng Ning promised her that he will return, she waited for him, thinking that he was like her prince that will one day take her away. Such childish thoughts, did she really loved him?

She sighed. Just like what she said that day, when she confronted Feng Ning, she was planning to keep it that way, but that doesn't mean that she can't be friends with him again, right? She was glad to know that Feng Ning was alive because he was an important person to her, he was her first friend and childhood friend.

"Okay. You can come and visit here tomorrow." She smiled.

"Thank you."

"Ning-ge."

"Yes?"

"I hope you remember the things that I told you back then."

It became quiet in the other line. He didn't say anything for a while which made Xia Meilin nervous.

"Ning-ge?"

"I know. Anyway, I should end the call now, see you tomorrow, Xiao Mei."

"See you tomorrow..."

After the call ended, she lied down on her bed and sighed. Should she tell Lu Yifeng about this?

She placed her hand on her chest. She loves Lu Yifeng right? But what if he gets angry when she tells him about Feng Ning? They promised to be honest with each other so she shouldn't keep this from him, right?

She stared at her phone. She should probably call him tomorrow, once he reached Italy. If she called him now, he might turn his plane back and head straight to her.

She laughed lightly at this thought. It would be nice if he can turn the plane and head straight to her instead, right? But she knows that she shouldn't disturb him with his work. She can't allow him to leave it behind just for her.

Early that morning, she suddenly heard her phone rang. She groaned in annoyance. Who would call this early and disturb her?

She answered the call without looking at the caller ID. "Hello?" She asked sleepily.

"Ah... I'm sorry if I woke you up."

Xia Meilin's eyes shot open when she heard Lu Yifeng's voice from the other line. She was about to get up when she felt someone hugging her.

She turned her head and saw Little Melon, sleeping beside her. "Wait. I'm just... going to go out of the room." She whispered while trying to gently move Little Melon's arm and leg from her.

She heard a soft chuckle from the other line. "Xiao Gua's with you?"

"Who else could it be? I only have two boys that are allowed to sleep with me." She chuckled softly as she whispered. She made Little Melon hug a teddy bear instead before she went out of her room. "How's your trip?"

"I just arrived."

"Then you should rest. What time is it there?"

"Ten in the evening." He replied.

"Oh, it's seven hours difference eh." She chuckled. "You should get some rest, Mr. Lu. You need to replenish your strength for tomorrow."

He chuckled. "Yes mam."

"Lu Yifeng, dinner's ready." A woman's voice was suddenly heard from the other line.

"Got it." Lu Yifeng responded casually.

Xia Meilin narrowed her eyes when she heard it. "Who's there with you?"

"My cousin." He honestly replied.

"Your cousin? Then why is she there with you?"

"She's living here in Milan. I'm going to stay with her while I'm here."

"You're going to stay with her?" She furrowed her brows.

Hearing the tone of her voice, Lu Yifeng felt that something was wrong. "Is everything alright there?"

"Why yes, yes! Everything is fine here, darling!" She was glaring at the poor vase in front of her as if that vase was Lu Yifeng.

"..." Why did she suddenly became mad at him? Lu Yifeng was confused.
