Being in his arms felt weird for her, it brought warmth to her body. His gentleness was touching her heart. No wonder the her in this world fell in love with him.

What's the point of destroying a man like him? He's different. He's not the man she hated. Even if they have the same face, it was not the Lu Yifeng of her past.

"Have you thought of some names for our girls?" Lu Yifeng asked while he was gently swaying with her.

She closed her eyes and smiled. " Pingguo (apple) and... Paigu (pork ribs)?"

Lu Yifeng furrowed his brows. "I'll name our girls this time." Their twins will definitely cry if she named them like that.

Xia Meilin leaned back and looked at him with a pout. "Can't I name one of them?"

"No. I'll name them this time." He firmly said.

She huffed. She rested her head on his shoulder again. "Fine, I'll name our next child, okay?"

"Mm. Okay." Her words brought warmth in his chest. Does that mean that she's willing to stay with him for that long?

They continued dancing that way for a while until the song ended. She pulled away and this time, the cold look in her eyes melted.

After the party ended, they headed back to their place. Xia Meilin went to put Little Melon to asleep before she went to her own room. She changed into her night gown before she went to her bed.

Xia Meilin was about to go to sleep when she suddenly heard a knock. She groaned in displeasure.

"Who is it?" She asked out loud, the annoyance in her voice was heard.

"It's me."

Hearing the familiar deep voice, Xia Meilin got off the bed and stomped her way towards the door. She opened it and glared at Lu Yifeng. "What is it now?"

"Can I sleep here?" He directly asked.

"No." She said with a deadpanned look. She was about to close the door but he stopped her.

"My bed broke."

Her brow twitchd. She continued glaring at him. "There are other rooms, go sleep there."

"I'm scared." He said with a blank look on his face.

She furrowed her brows as she looked at him in disbelief. Was he trying to trick her? He could have at least act scared so that it can be more convincing.

Xia Meilin was about to go back but she stopped when she heard a knock. She clenched her fists tight, he was definitely annoying her!

She opened the door again but before she can say anything, she was pulled into a hug.

"I just want to sleep with you." He whispered softly.

She was able to hear it because of there closeness. "Lu Yifeng, you said that you'll give me space."

"It's been two months, Meilin. I've been sleeping without you for two months. I just want to be with my wife." He leaned back and touched her cheeks with both hands.

She pursed her lips as she stared back at him. He didn't questioned her when she started acting strangly. She believed that Lu Yifeng thought it was because of her mood swings, and because of that, she used it into her advantage to distance herself from him.

She looked away. "A... Alright... I'll allow you to sleep here just for tonight."

He smiled when she finally gave in. He leans and placed a soft kiss on her forehead. "Thank you."

They entered the room and when they got on the bed, Xia Meilin went to lie down by the side of the bed. She couldn't help but get nervous because of his presence.

"Don't sleep there, you might fall. Come here." Lu Yifeng patted the space in between them.

She took a pillow and decided to put it between them when she moved close to his side.

Lu Yifeng sighed at this. "I'm not going to eat you tonight." He took the pillow and placed it away before he pulled her in his arms.

Xia Meilin was surprised at this, she tried pushing him away but he was too strong for her. Memories of her past life flashed in front of her and because of this, fear suddenly filled her body as she shrank back from him.

Lu Yifeng noticed this that's why he touched her face and made her face him. "Look at me, Meilin."

"Please... please don't hurt me." Her body started trembling when she remembered what he can do to her.

"Look at me." He gently said as he caressed her cheek with his thumb before he started stroking her hair.

She was afraid but because she doesn't want him to get angry, she turned and looked into his clear eyes.

It pained him to see her looking at him in fear but to take small steps towards her and improve their relationship, he has to help her. "I promise not to hurt you, okay? I won't hurt you so calm down, Meilin. Calm down, sweetheart."

Because of the gentleness in his voice and the way he stroked her hair, she was able to calm down. She was still staring into his clear eyes. It looked like there was a mini galaxy in it.

"It's okay. It's going to be, okay." He said softly.

"I-I'm sorry..."

"What are you sorry for? You didn't do anything wrong." In fact, it was him who wronged her. He was the one who caused her to be like this. "Don't think too much about anything, okay? You need to get some rest."

She shook her head. She was afraid that if she closed her eyes, she'll recall his cruel side. The Lu Yifeng in front of her is so kind to her that she was afraid that he'll disappear if she close her eyes. "I'm scared..."

"Don't worry, I'm here."

Her lips stretched out into a straight line. Xia Meilin was still scared but for some reason, she feels like she can trust his words. She closed her eyes and rested her head on his chest.

She never expected that she'll feel comfortable being in his arms. He wasn't doing anything to her, instead he was being patient with her. She reached out and hugged him back. "Will you... still be like this once I wake up?"

Lu Yifeng knew what she was talking about. He knew that she was afraid to discover that the way he treated her was not real, and all of these was just a dream.

"I will be here. Don't worry, I won't let anyone hurt you." Including himself. He had been through so many hardships, he was not going to quit now. He learned to be patient and understanding the hard way.

"Lu Yifeng."

"Yes?"

She turned and looked at him. "I wish that... you will always be like this."

His eyes softened with her words. He stared back at her. If he has treated her well back then, then they wouldn't have to go through so much pain and sadness.

She touched his cheek before she leaned close to him. She placed her lips on his for a few seconds before she pulled away. "You will always be good to me, right?"
